2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / making dog toys? on: May 12, 2005 03:17:36 PM
I really want to make some unusually cute dog toys for my dog, but I'm afraid he'll just tear them apart. (He's a boxer with jowls of steel)

Can anyone recommend a good sturdy fabric to make chew toys out of? What should I look for?  Huh
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / ipod cozies- i'm a little late in the game, but so excited i had to share on: January 18, 2005 12:58:11 PM
now keep in mind i haven't touched a sewing machine in something like 7 years. my boyfriend bought be a sewing machine for my birthday last october and i FINALLY got around to using it last week! i had just bought my ipod and it was desperately in need of a wardrobe. so i picked up some socks on clearance at target and *voila* ipod cozies! i even made my very first button hole!

now how cute are they?
4  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / tricks to keep jack-o-lanterns fresh? on: October 13, 2004 01:15:37 PM
last year my pumpkins withered away within a week. Sad

i've heard of several tricks of the trade to make jack o lanterns last longer, so i was wondering what personal experiences you guys have. what works and what doesn't work? i've heard greasing the cut parts with vasaline, soaking the finished jack o lantern in salt water... ?

help! i love to carve pumpkins, but i want my hard work to last more than a week!

oh, and here's last year's project. Smiley
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / my first stencil (schwinn bike) on: August 19, 2004 12:42:14 PM

i used photoshop and illustrator and it was way easier than i thought it would be.  i'm actually not quite sure how it happened, but it turned out great!!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / bottle cap mannequin on: August 08, 2004 09:46:45 PM
so i came across a mannequin a couple years ago, and i thought "hey, i'll take this lady home. surely i can do something with her." then from working at an ale house for a year and a half i had acquired copious amounts of bottle caps. so one day i grabbed a hot glue gun and went to work. here's the result

i've been meaning to wire it and make it into a lamp, but i've been entirely too lazy.
