1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: PROGRESS! some christmas projects *img heavy* on: December 11, 2007 02:51:06 PM
Great job on all of them! The scarf looks sooooo cozy! I love knitting the fetching gloves. I have already made a pair for a friend for Christmas and now I am working on a second pair to give to my sister for Christmas. Hehe.

I love the hat as well. It is a beanie, or is it made to be a little slouchy? If you do not mind me asking, what pattern did you use? And the yarn looks so soft! What yarn did you use?

You did a lovely job on everything! I am sure they will all love their gifts!

The hat is a bit slouchy, but not too huge. I used the Mary Jane Pithy pattern found here: http://www.littleturtleknits.com/pithyhat.htm and the yarn... I can't quite recall but I'm pretty sure it was Paton's wool. It's a little bit scratchy but since the hat is loose it doesn't seem to be a problem.

I too love knitting the fetching gloves, I'm trying to find excuses to knit more! Smiley

Thanks for the link to the elephant pattern! So cute!
My first attempts at itty bitty knit things didn't go too well, but I am still obsessed with the idea of knitting toys.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Yes, beginners CAN knit socks. Proof within! on: November 29, 2007 08:02:09 PM
I have been dreaming about knitting socks since I first learned to knit a year ago, and it has yet to happen. This is encouraging! Now I just need to find the right pattern.  Smiley

The wristwarmers are wonderful!!  I have yet to make my own... soon... I did rip the ones I started from the Knitters Bible, Knit Accessories because I had screwed something up along the way...

They may be my new favorite thing to make! I almost finished those in one day because i didn't want to put them down!

They look amazing!!! I really liek the fuzzy scarf. What pattern did you use, if I may ask?

Thank goodness for internet history, I didn't think I'd be able to find it again since I just jotted down directions and went to knitting!

Pattern for the scarf can be found here: http://www.mielkesfarm.com/oldshale.htm

And thanks everyone for the compliments!  Grin
