1  my comfy red/gray hobo hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by dashboardownsme on: January 07, 2008 03:24:22 PM

So, I had a huge flannel shirt that doesn't fit my dad anymore, and I wore it for awhile. Then he started calling me a lesbian, so I thought about fitting it down to size.

And then right when I was about to actually stop being lazy and do it, I remembered my too small gray hoodie, a hand-me-down from a friend.

So I decided to combine the two.

I hope you like it!

I don't know if I already posted on your topic, but I absolutely adored your hoodie and your tutorial-made-easy. So I made one myself, without a zipper because I'm not ready to graduate to zippers yet.. lol.

3  fleece hat in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by dashboardownsme on: November 04, 2007 08:54:58 PM
so, the general consensus is that this hat looks like a french beret. General consensus = me, my mom, and a friend. Fairly small consensus, but stopping with the babbling, and on with the pictures!

there it is on my hand, the tie is kinda woven in, sorta.

and an action shot, albeit in front of my room with my camera phone.

and another action shot.  Smiley

All I did was got a circle piece of leftover fleece, hemmed it to make clean edges, and made little slits near the edge of the brim, wove in a strip of fleece through the slits, put it on over my head, and pulled the ends of the strip of fleece to tighten it. Then it form-fitted to my head, and I tied it into a pretty bow. I'll try to take pictures with my parents digital camera to capture the hat better.

4  boyfriend's hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by dashboardownsme on: November 01, 2007 02:46:44 PM
well, I guess the subject SHOULD say ex-boyfriend, since he's an effing loser and dumped me on Tuesday, after we had been going out for 2 years and 3 months. But I won't rant on here. These are pictures of his hoodie, but I made one for me out of the same fleece fabric in a smaller size. All thanks to gnacissej's tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177602.0

which I altered because I don't get zippers.

   1 arm done!

   both arms done!

yay! completed. And I was a loser at a late hour, so I scrunched the hoodie over my head.

5  Don Hertzfeldt mini-hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by dashboardownsme on: November 01, 2007 02:32:27 PM
Okay, well, I've had this short sleeve hoodie since I was 8, so now it's fashionable with the bottom stopping above my bellybutton. And I've been obsessed with Don Hertzfeldt's creations, including "welcome to the show" on youtube..  http://youtube.com/watch?v=C7Op0AvcVOQ

anyways, I don't know what you call it, but I guess I "embroidered" the concession guy dudes on the back.

(that's me wearing it backwards.. I don't know why I did)

comments? criticisms?

6  pillowcase messenger bag [updated with pictures, no links] in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by dashboardownsme on: November 01, 2007 02:24:14 PM
well.. this is my first post.. I'm excited!

Um, this was my first sewing project, before I got my sewing machine, so it was all handsewn. I had two pillowcases, one that was striped white, black, blue, and green, and another that was plain blue. And then I turned it into this:

Ignore the awful hair and glasses.. it was around 2 AM

Likes? Dislikes? Keep in mind this was handsewn, and my first sewing project. I use it as my bookbag now that I have reinforced my strap with my sewing machine.
