After yet another trip to the yarn store today, I decided it was time to find somewhere to store all this crap. Ideally I would have a nice big apartment with an extra room to store everything in, but in a group house with 4 other people, thats not happening. So, here's what I came up with:

I made this quite some time ago and found it tonight while looking for my Pippi Longstocking movie (couldn't find her, though). My sewing is a little off because I used my mom's fancy pants sewing machine. The image is printed on the fabric.

So, I'm done with the first arm warmer. This was first a fetching, but was frogged cause it was ugly as sin. I then made it a basic ribbed cuff arm warmer. It was a bit big, so I felted it lightly. Its not dry yet but I like it much much more than all other versions.

So I finished my first fetching with some lovely hand dyed wool I found on ebay (seller: inaspin) but stupidly knit this on needles that were a bit too big. So my poor little fetching is large and bulky. Can I felt it? Will it totally ruin my beautiful cables? Help!

I'm becoming really obsessed with buying beautiful (expensive!!) handspun yarn. My question is- what kind of items do you guys make to show it off in all its glory? I mean, a girl can only have so many scarves, armwarmers and hats. I'm tempted to make little wrist cuffs out of all the yarn I buy and match them to my outfits.

Smaller skein was $10 and larger was $14. Shipping from New Mexico to D.C. was DIRT cheap and didn't take as long as I'd expected.

Question #1 There is a bit of debris in the yarn. How can I clean this out? It seems to work alright if I just run it through my fingers while putting it into balls. Any other suggestions?

Annnd.. What can I make? There's about 300 yards.

I promised I'd make one of my kids at work a hat. Of course now its my vacation and I have no idea how big an 8 year olds head is!!
Anyone know or willing to take a guess? I was thinking maybe 16 inches?

And bought a whole bunch of yarn I don't need. I also have no idea what to make with any of this shit.
Any ideas?
