22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / So, I promised an 8 year old a hat.. on: December 24, 2007 12:18:23 AM
I promised I'd make one of my kids at work a hat. Of course now its my vacation and I have no idea how big an 8 year olds head is!!
Anyone know or willing to take a guess? I was thinking maybe 16 inches?
23  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! on: December 23, 2007 11:52:11 PM
morelove, I love the detail in your tattoo. Are you planning on getting it colored in?

The tattoo gun noise is pretty horrific. I'm fine at getting tattooed as long as I don't think about all the needles going into me. I can't imagine what its like to actually watch the tattoo gun (all my tattoos are on my back/ backs of my legs) ickk. I either count in my head or recite a poem over and over though the painful parts.
24  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: College/Cheap, fast, but not horribly unhealthy ---for Vegetarians!!! on: December 23, 2007 11:33:06 PM
the hand pies sound amazing!
My diet often consists of
instant breakfast with instant coffee (breakfast)
pepperjack cheese melted on everything bagels (lunch)
beans and grains (black beans, garbonzo beans, lentils, brown/white rice, couscous, quinoa)- you can actually get  them cooked and canned together, so you can just heat it in the microwave (dinner)

I figure its a bit better than my boyfriend's favorite- cheesy eggy ramen ranch.
25  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: (Spicy) Hummus -- What spices do you use? on: December 23, 2007 11:22:40 PM
a little bit of garlic and/or lemon juice with chipotle pepper powder.

I really want hummus now.
26  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Man-friendly vegetarian meals? on: December 23, 2007 01:52:06 PM
I really like the ones made out of TVP. It almost has an identical texture. I'm kinda grossed out by fake meat products so I can't say anything about that.
27  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting in Public: Where you do it on: December 20, 2007 07:16:49 PM
I knit on the metro. On my way home from work I take the long way just so I can have extra time to knit and people watch. It only sucks when there's a baseball/basketball/hockey game and the trains are FULL of tourists. I had some woman ask me to put my needles away because she didn't want anyone to get stabbed (we were standing up).
I also knit at the bar, every time I go!
28  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Popcorn? on: December 17, 2007 09:48:00 PM
I think its that company that makes spicy honey mustard popcorn? I hate mustard but this stuff is AMAZING. Its spicy with some bits of popcorn sweet and caramelized.

So good.
29  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: d.i.y. moustache wax!!!! on: December 17, 2007 12:31:45 AM
I love how all the ladies thought this was about getting your mustache waxed. Including me.

My boyfriend really enjoys taking it too far with his handlebar mustache. I'd make some of this for him if I wasn't so concerned about the consequences! Thumbs up for keeping yours TASTEFUL.
30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I Went To the Knitting Store!! on: December 14, 2007 05:09:49 PM
And bought a whole bunch of yarn I don't need. I also have no idea what to make with any of this shit.
Any ideas?
