51  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: my devilish hooded shrug... now with added tutorial ish on: May 02, 2005 10:38:31 AM
Oh poop, your bandwidth is exceeded on Photobucket. Would you mind sending me your pics of the shrug? I'm not a stalker or nuthin, I'd just like to have the pics for visual reference for when I start knitting this up in June. I went to download them today and they're not there.

Thanks! And when I'm finished it eventually, I shall post a pic.

*EDIT* Also, how much yarn did you need? I have some Bernat Soft Chunky lying around but only have 1 skein each.

I think you could easily get away with charging anywhere between 35 and 45 bucks for one, seeing as it's a very unique item of clothing. But then, I'm thinking Canadian dollars. If you're a United Statesian, maybe... 25-35 bucks?

I might make mine blue and black, with cat ears. Cheesy

This is so HOT. I'm totally making this after I finish knitting stuff to sell at the convention I'm attending.

Thanks so much for sharing the pattern! So cool!

I know you said no hats, but hats knit on big needles with bulky yarn knit up in an evening, and they're super-warm!

As mentioned, cozies for stuff. Also, try knitting yourself a wallet! I plan to. Cheesy
56  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: knitting rox my sox! on: March 06, 2005 02:20:51 PM
Sexy sox! They look all thick and warm.  Smiley

I went to my LYS the other day(guitar's in the shop for two weeks, I was depressed and wanted yarn), and they had this sexy Norwegian sock yarn(85%wool, 15% cotton, or something) regular 13.99CND, on sale for 6.99CND. I yayed, because like you, I finally felt compelled to make some socks for myself. Got myself a handy little reference book of sock patterns as well, in case I fall in love with sock knitting.

I've got a few things on my queue before the socks, but I'll be sure to post pics when I'm through with them.  Cheesy
57  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Yarns Ive been spinning- what have you guys been spinning? on: March 01, 2005 07:05:01 AM
You guys have made some awesomely fun yarns! I've always wanted to try my hand at spinning, but was kinda nervous.  Cheesy

How much is the initial cost of materials, approximately? (I'm in Canada).

*ahem*

Yes. You are both correct. It was late. And, since it's "nous", I also conjugated the verb wrong! French = 80 million verb conjugations = your head explodes.  Mais oui, c'est "Nous voulons crochet avec toi"!  Cheesy

Let me just add to the kudos for deciding to publish a crochet book, Deb! I know I've been wanting to get into crochet ever since I started to knit, but I only know knitters. Although I'll miss the new knitting patterns, I can't wait to see the funky fresh crochet patterns you guys will dig up.

Can't wait! Vous voulez crochet avec toi!  <--- (Is Canadian, and thus, bilingual.)
