I think the Zellers on Merivale Road has(had?) a big supply of yarn. Well, big as far as Zellers goes - a whole aisle's worth! But they recently renovated, and while I've been there a few times since they moved stuff around, I haven't actively looked for the crafts section so I'm not sure where it is.

I should be going there tomorrow to pick up some stuff, so I can check and get back to you. In the meantime, perhaps call the stores individually and find out if they carry it? Might be tedious, but that way you'd be sure.

I need a listing of craft sales/places I can sell my crafty wares, in Ottawa. I know of Ladyfest and their regular craft sales, but what about others? I can easily fit in to a grandma's craft sale, anyway; my stuff is for all ages!

Anyone have anything they know of? Even a few hours outside of Ottawa is fine.

I, like many a gamer, have an unhealthy fascination with the chain chomps that inhabit the Mario Bros. World.

So, I knit one!





It was easy and quick to make, and I definitely plan on making more for friends!

Hey all!

I wanted to share my newest FO, which is also a design of my own creation: Jack's Beanstalk Blanket.

The blanket was designed and knit for my new baby nephew, Jack, who was welcomed into the world in early December. I finished casting off the blanket only an hour before I got the phone call announcing his birth!

Here's a gross yellowish photo of the unblocked blanket. (Thumbnails lead to big image)



And here's the finished product:



Knit with Patons Classic Wool Merino in a deep foresty green.



The pattern is simple, consisting of three Vandyke lace columns and a seed stitch border.



It's one of the biggest projects I've done, and I'm very proud of it.

Thanks so much for the kind words. Just a pattern update: The crappy, scribbled pattern is currently being test-knitted by a pal on Ravelry, and I'm waiting for her careful notes on the subject before I write out a full pattern. BUT, as she is knitting it -right now-, the pattern should be ready for early January at the latest!

Sorry for the not-ready-for-Christmas-ness! But I'll update here as soon as the pattern is done!
