1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Neurotransmitter Bracelet on: May 22, 2008 08:41:46 PM
This is another swap item for the science is art swap.  It was an amazing swap and a lot of really wonderful artsy/sciency items came out of it!  Check out the gallery...you will not be disappointed.

This was made with shrinky plastic and glass beads.  I really liked it and I plan on making one for myself.

I love how the brain turned out.

2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Mighty Chondria T Shirt on: May 22, 2008 07:56:25 PM
I made this up for the Science is Art Swap.  I am a complete geek....

I just drew it, scanned it, then Ironed it on (that was after a few dozen trial drawings Smiley).  This was my first iron on and I do believe it is my favorite thing to do now Smiley

And here it is modeled..

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Robots have hearts bag on: May 22, 2008 02:54:46 PM
I made this for the Science is Art Swap.  I remembered seeing this robot on a clip art site moons ago and pulled what I remembered from the file in my brain Smiley

I wanted something industrial for the handles so I used grommets and linked the chain through the grommets.  I used rhinestones for the eyes and fabric paint for the heart.

Any way here it is being modeled by my youngest:

And a closer shot where you can see the handles/grommets better.

4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Baby cowboy boot pattern? on: December 11, 2007 10:23:28 PM
My SIL is in search of a pattern for cowboy boots for a baby.  Does anyone know where I could find such a thing?

I appreciate y'all's help!!!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Monster Pillow for my little Monster on: December 09, 2007 07:08:20 AM
My DD has this fear of monsters and I have been SO unsuccessful at ending this fear.  We even have a no monsters allowed sign on her door Smiley So we have taken an "if you can't beat 'em join 'em" approach.

We made this pillow with what my DD would look like if she was a monster...

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Dora Bag for my DD on: December 03, 2007 01:30:13 PM
I made this for my daughters 5th birthday which is this Saturday.  She picked out the fabric moons ago, but once we got it home she didn't like it so much.  When I asked her what she wanted me to make out of it she said "Diego".  So I hope she likes this bag.  I made it tall enough for her to put her Madeline dolls in, because that is really the only reason she wants a bag.  I'm also thinking that when it gets warmer and we get to go hiking she can use it then.

The only thing I haven't decided is how to finish the strap.  In the picture I tied it into a bow, but I was thinking maybe using D rings or snaps so it is adjustable.  Let me know your opinions...Thanks!

7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Help... My sewing machine has gone wacky... on: December 01, 2007 06:23:53 PM
So, I'm happily sewing along....a really nifty bag in fact... and then I noticed this

I am figuring it has something to do with the tension, but why would I be sewing and then all of a sudden this happen?  could something have broken or is there anything I did?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

here are a couple of other pics:

Thanks in advance!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My new stipey spring bag...just in time for Fall on: November 24, 2007 05:29:39 PM
I fell in love with this fabric.  I now have a purse, a tote bag, a sharps container cover, and part of my dd Christmas present  all from this print...

This is one of the purses I made...
After I finished sewing I decided I wanted a more distressed look so I washed it in hot water and dried it.  I like the effect.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Two Newly made from old stuff bracelets...(Image heavy...) on: November 16, 2007 07:41:02 PM
This is the first time I have actually shown my stuff...I'm so nervous!

Here are two bracelets that I finished recently I gave them to my daughters theater club for a fund raiser.

This brown one is made of beads that were recycled from a vintage necklace.  The beads look so yummy to me.

This green one is made from beads I had around...

Sorry to be so image heavy.  and I hope I have posted correctly...

Have a great day!
