1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / polaroid land cameras on: December 30, 2007 10:23:21 PM
what would one do with a polaroid land camera, considering that they do not make film for them anymore? i have 2 and don't want them to go to waste...

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / latest sewing pieces + 1 reconstruction [with pictures] on: September 22, 2007 10:02:37 AM

reconstructed from a fugly thrift store turtleneck. i liked the fabric but hated the actual shirt. i love it now! i've worn it like 3 times since i reconstructed it.  Smiley

made from the fabric of a 2x white t-shirt from jo-ann's.

made from 3/4 yard of flannel and some scraps from a separate project.

back detail.

made from fabric from a shirt that my sister was throwing away.

made from one of my little brother's long sleeve dress shirts. removed a few buttons, resized to fit me and did a stencil on the pocket.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / latest clothing reconstruction and sewing projects! with pictures, of course :) on: September 12, 2007 08:04:37 PM

formerly size 2 regular fit black glo jeans, now size 0 super skinny fit reconstructed black jeans.

made entirely from scratch from some cute random vintage fabric i found in my basement. i just barely had enough fabric of the same print to finish it with. buttons are also vintage, circa 1950s from my late grandmother.

thrift store reconstruction...used to be REALLY ugly...i'll admit it looks much better on a person than it does hanging there rather pathetically...

i love saying things with my clothes...made entirely from scratch out of  the material of which a 2x t-shirt from jo-ann fabrics is made. yes, i'm a vegan and proud of it! i hope that's apparent...obviously...lol...

used to be a tacky dress made by dickies...i don't think i'm done with this one yet, it's a tad bit boring...

 Cheesy

a little boy's t-shirt that had been sitting in my closet for about a year. i chopped off the sleeves, collar and bottom hem because they were a bulky and thick blue material that i didn't like, and re-shaped it into a playful boyish top for a female figure, and hemmed all the edges.

i bought this sweater the last time i was thrift store shopping, but it was too big. so i shortened the sleeves, made the waist smaller, and re-hemmed all the edges...changing it from a regular blue sweater to a quarter-length, 2 or 3 inch short, shoulder-showing blue sweater. yay 80's.

a tote i made from 2 t-shirts that i liked the designs of but were too big (ignore the wet spot, it was raining when i got out of class this evening). [front]

legwarmers! made from a sweater i also got at a thrift store that was really cute but made my shoulders look rather mannish. sorry it's kind of blurry, i was too lazy to meter the picture correctly since it's just a quick craft picture. you can't see but they have cute ties with a button on the sides.

if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

8  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / ohayo gozaimasu!! hi everybody :) on: September 08, 2007 09:38:39 AM
hey,

i joined craftster a few days ago and i was overjoyed to discover how many other people there are out there like me haha...i've always been a packrat and someone who likes to recycle and make things out of nothing. i'm a vegan and quite environmentally conscientious if i may say so. i'm 16 years old and a sophomore at a community college. i will probably be transferring to another school in fall of 2008. i'm very much into photography and that is what i'm currently studying at school, along with fashion design.

i just wanted to say that craftster is definitely my newest favorite-est website!!!

hi, everyone!!!!
