21  Christmas Elephant comes early!! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Esjay82 on: August 21, 2008 06:37:09 PM
so i was just browsing the internet the other day for some christmas type inspiration for some gifts i want to make and i came across this pattern...

http://members.tripod.com/pacycrochets/eleinht/

i thought i was too cute so i just had to make one! It is a perfect present for m friends mum, cos she loves elephants and she knits so i know she'll appreciate a handmade gift.  Wink i did a few things slightly different to the pattern but nothing really major. Here's the pic of mine...

i'm holding him in my hand so u can get an idea of size. i still need to put some nylon/gold thread hough his head so he can hag from the tree!  Grin Grin

23  Bender Bending Rodríguez in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Esjay82 on: July 14, 2008 11:35:28 AM
I recently made Bender Bending Rodríguez!! woohoo! i made him for our friends 30th bday.. he asked for no gifts.. but i dont think he minded when he received Bender!! Our friend likes robots and Bender, and his kind of nickname is Todbot. onto the pictures..
Most of Benders bits pre sewing:
Finished Bender chilling on a table on a bar in Vegas!

i used this pattern..
http://stitch.hellooperator.net/free-patterns/bender-bending-rodriguez-amigurumi-pattern/
that pattern i pretty easy to follow.

there is also a few versions of different Benders on Ravelry.. worth checking out for reference.

i think i pretty much stuck to the pattern.. but i did make his arms n legs bit shorter.. i used CSS in soft gray heather or something, n black, n i used off-white for the eyes n teeth. i think he turned out pretty welll, he's not quite perfect but everyone who saw him thought he was cool! i will b making 2nd improved version tho.. with poseable arms n legs, fingers etc.. maybe door opening.. i was in bit of a rush this time tho.

24  Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ JULY in Crochetalongs by Esjay82 on: July 14, 2008 11:23:18 AM
Here's some photos! First the 2 july squares i've done..

Next.. All the squares for the 2 blankets...

What do u guys think? i think they're turning out nicely.. the july square was quick and easy! i'm going to go round the edges of all my squares with the off-white, n the join them.. i was just goin to make small 12 square lapghans.. but i'm thinkin i might make 16 square ones instead.. n do 2 all blue squares and 2 all brown squares for the blue, cream n brown one and put one in each corner, if that makes sense? n do the same for the red blanket but with the red colour instead of the blue? i'm gonna go and look over all the pics of peoples fillers on here.. n have a see which ones i should do?  Grin

Whoop! i uploaded pics!! here's the 1st one.. its the one i'm doing all in one colour just to see how it turns out.. it's done in lionbrand lionwool. i think it was looking alot like a prawn till i added the clusters..

and here's the real one.......

that one i started with sparkly white woolease, then i changed to caron simply soft in limelight.. it is quite bright! and then i change today, i just put my hand in and grab the 1st one.. it was sugar and cream in a green and blue colour. i think it reminds me of a sea creature also at the moment almost!! lol i think there should be ch 25, 16dc, 24trc, and then i only have 9pairs of shoes (including wedding and flip-flops) so only 9 clusters. i cant wait for the next bit!

OK so i was going to upload some pics to show you guys for opinions... but it took me all of last night to get it down to just a couple!! and then i showed hubby and he helped me pick, (well kind of) he's not always the most helpful, he was busy. but i like his opinion cos he doesnt crochet so he has a different way of looking at crochet items than i do. anyways.. i settled on one its a bit plain but i think my friend will like it. She found out she's havin a girl!!! WHOOOOO!! but i dont think she is the type to do all frilly girly pinkness! which is bit rubbish.. so i've picked a more classic lookin blanket, and it has eyelets that hav satin ribbon through. i figured i could put whatever colour through them when i decide at the end.. i will upload a pic in a bit of what i've done so far.  Wink

here's the picture....

i'm doing it in lionbrand pound of love yarn in an off white colour. What do you think so far?
