i hope thats ok. i had such fun with my friend making the gingerbread houses!!! i know neither of them are tidy etc, but it really was a great way to spend an afternoon. Smiley and from now on i want to make one every year, hoping to improve my technique and plan more next time.

i LOVE looking at all the desserts posted here, makes my mouth water!

2  Laminaria Shawl for friend to wear on her wedding day :O) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Esjay82 on: December 12, 2009 07:09:54 PM
i knitted this slightly modified version from the Laminaria Shawl pattern from knitty..

pattern:

http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring08/PATTlaminaria.html

Pics all the pics i have are from when it was pinned while blocking...

edging

it is made with a circular size 5 needle and Gloss Lace yarn in bare from www.knitpicks.com. The pattern is great, and i really enjoyed knitting it. i've also made another for an aunt.

i live far away from my friend, so when she told me she was getting married i wanted to make her something special for her big day. i showed her some things i'd made, and we discussed what she was gonna wear. i showed her the pattern and some photos of other peoples versions of this shawl.. she loved it, so i went ahead and made it for her. she then told me she had brought her date forward to just 3 months notice!! so i knit as fast as my little hands could!! i then blocked it, packaged it, sent it to her, it arrived with few days to spare. she ADORES it, and so did everyone else. it looks lovely in the photos i've seen from her special day. maybe i'll ask her if i can post one that shows the shawl on here. :O)

Nothing particularly original, but it is pretty.  Wink so i thought i'd share..

detail

i like the way it turned out, the colours match my tree ornaments perfectly, i made it for our door, but i think i might like it too much to hang it where i can't see it! lol!

6  Sackboy for my hubby! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Esjay82 on: February 24, 2009 07:25:07 PM
I've been making Sackboy for a little while, and i finally just about finished him today in time to give him to my hubby for our anniversary!! woo!  Grin I used the Alan Dart pattern but made some modifications... i scaled it down and used size 1 needles and fingering weight yarn, (Knitpicks Palette in Bark i think), also i made it so his mouth was open. He's about 5-6" tall, perfect size!!  Grin I will add more photos after i've done stitch detail, also his tounge isn't fixed in yet cos i'm not happy wth the colour.. but i cant find felt the colour i want.. it doesnt look too bad tho. i was just so excited i just had to post! Here's the pics......

Added this one as it's better, hubby took it.  Grin

What do u guys think?

7  Re: 2009 12" Squares- January in Crochetalongs by Esjay82 on: January 15, 2009 10:27:45 AM
I have a picture of my square!! woooo! its taken on the webcam tho.. so its not the best but it'll do for now!! i'll put up a better one when hubby gives me the camera back!!

i added an extra row of the pattern bit.. then did the DC around, then finished with a row of HDC. its just over 12" i used an I hook, and it's done in simply soft. Rose-Violet and off-white. I plan to make a raibow colored blanket!! yay! Each square being off-white and a colour.. either red, orange, yellow, green, blue or rose-violet. So i should end up with 2 squares of each colour. I dont wanna make it any bigger as i'll prob be sending it overseas as a christmas gift. But it'll be the same size as the one i made last CAL nice sofa size.  Grin Enough babbling!!! here's the pic...

8  Re: Cable Hat Crochet-a-long in Crochetalongs by Esjay82 on: January 13, 2009 07:23:23 PM
I finished mine! yay! I did it with an I hook, and increased once more after the last increase row( so i think i increased to 96 st), then at the end for the brim, i decreased the extra stitches as i did the first row of the brim, and i used a G hook for the brim. it fits.. could b a little smaller tho, but it does fit! i'll have to take a better pic!! Also i used simply soft in chocolate!...

here's a crpatastic photo taken on the webcam for the time being....
