Hah no, not dedication, tedious activities like winding yarn around my fingers are just my way of procrastinating other more important things Cheesy

I'm so sorry I took so long to post these! I got my awesome package from CamOovas and have taken forever to post pictures!
I know she posted a couple but here's the rest of the loot-

The pages of the notebook are all different, I love it!

Here's the stitch markers again, there're incredibly well made, and I love the colors

I recently decided to become vegetarian, so she sent me some good info and recipes

the seriously cool dreadlocks, my hair is just barely too short to wear it as a ponytail right now, but I think I'll figure something out

This is a wire wrapped marble on a necklace that just amazes me, I have no idea how you can even do that! Hah, and you can see my camera in the refection

And one last look at everything all together -

Thank you CamOovas!!!!!

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Quilt block holder carrier... thing on: September 10, 2008 11:03:13 AM
So, I made this for my Mom for her birthday back in february, but never got around to posting it.  She was looking online at a pattern for something like this, to carry these really cool animal appliqu blocks she's been taking a class on. I saw the pic, and thought, hey I could probably do that! So, I cut up a giant frosted flakes box into two squares, covered them in felt (for padding), cut two big rectangles of purple fabric, sewed elastic, vinyl, and four rectangles of felt to the one going in the middle, handles and a velcro closure to the one going on the outside, sewed the rectangles together, with the frosted flakes inside, and BOOM! Its done. Grin

Here's the outside when its closed

A close up of the handle and closure

Here's a not so great pic of it laying open, (oh yeah, that on the right is one of the blocks, not sewn together yet. I gotta check if I can put pics of her finished animal blocks up here, 'cause they're seriously awesome!)

This is that left side, the white stuff is elastic to hold her spools of thread. I was also originally going to put a pocket or something to the right of that, but I think I ran out of fabric. (or was it time? I finished this like the day before her birthday)

On the other side, it has a clear vinyl pocket to put her papers, or whatever else she wants.

So yeah, she said she loved it(she is my mom), and I think it came out good. Some of the sewing was a little sloppy, but I think if I had more time I would have done it better (maybe).

So, what do you think?
