at first, i was a little worried about the brighter colors, just because i wasn't sure how they would look with the rest of the yarns...but when i put it all together, it totally rocks!

i will try to get an action shot once my hubby comes home, because trying it one handed just ain't working.
this was totally fun, and i LOVE my scarf! 

i've received from both lylacfey and zkatom, but since my camera takes sucky pictures, i had to be creative in how i took the picture.

i was away for the weekend, and my husband called to tell me my package was here!
he then proceeded to ask if he could open it (ack, as if!)...
so when i got home today, that was the first thing on my to-do list.
and QueenNinjaMonkey did a great job!

the first thing in the box was this lovely pillow, inspired by my wists; and the artic fox is sooo soft, i just wanna snuggle...


then there was a hollow book, with tape measure bracelets and resin/bottlecap magnets (good thing, my fridge needs some lovin...)


she also sent me a mini jar of whimsies! great minds think alike, right?



here's an xbox-themed embroidery piece, cuz we share a love of gaming...


and a cute birdie tote with an original QNM embroidery kit!



then there was a a painted mug, inspired by the cover of my favorite book, and a jar of almond cookie/brown sugar body scrub(mmm, can't wait to try it out...).


and the final piece was a wist-inspired finger-stache, which i love...

i received today, and ohmagosh, curiousfae did an amazing job!!
right on top were a couple extras: embroidered bibs for my son, ethan!

these are awesome, and here's a shot of him...had to say "no grog till you're grown!"
he's a little disappointed.

the books she chose are perfect, because i've been meaning to read both of these, and i LOVED the movie for Stardust...

she embroidered a totebag for me, and i love the images!

then there were a couple bookmarks with quotes from Tuck Everlasting

there was also a little music box with a felted froggy and a small bottle with a "remember!" tag, both from Tuck Everlasting (i gotta get reading!)

and my favorite item: a bookmark with charms from stardust, i LOVE it!

and lastly, a crafting apron with a few extras thrown inside(thanks for the tape measure, i've been meaning to get one!)

so anywho, my husband came into the bedroom earlier, dancing a jig with my box, wish i had a picture of that!
the first thing i opened was this gorgeous mug that z handpainted. it's probably the perfect size for a bowl of cereal.

digging through the peanuts, i found this bag...

first thought: what the heck?

second thought: sweet! they're birdies!
doesn't he look good on our cabinet door?

i already put some up, and there's still a lot more!

then there was another bag!

mmm, shells! did i mention that i LOVE the beach? and i'm going in a week and a half! yay!

z sent me a cute pen that was a "taste of corona." i really like it.

there were also these cute earrings, that i'm still wearing.
it's funny, cuz i wouldn't have picked them out, but i really like them!

and last but not least, this beautiful painting. i just gotta find a good spot for it.

holy moley, i'm a little behind! everyone's already started?!?
well, i think i can give myself a little slack, i had my baby on saturday!

ethan was born at 1:43 p.m on June 20, 2009, weighing 8 lb, 13 oz.
he is such a good boy, but so much work...

so i've been a little busy, but i'm still here.
and i just noticed we have less than three weeks till sendouts: i've gotta get started!

here are a couple tees i made last summer for some friends, they are both acrylic (plus textile medium) on some plain 100% cotton tees...totally had a blast making them.

this one was a quick project, cuz she was leaving to go home the next day, so i put the creative juices into overdrive. stayed up late to finish it, but it was definitely less than 10 hours total...
it's her nickname with a tree, drew inspiration from a pic i took of the shadow of a tree...strange, huh?

this monster took about two weeks, off and on, because i was being a perfectionist....
i took forever on the design, kept redrafting/drawing with a fabric pen before i put any paint on the shirt...
not sure how long it took to actually paint, i kept working in small amounts and changed the design continually.

i used the tut on http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/sling.html, she's very particular about fabric choice and rings, especially for safety, so i'm not too nervous about how it holds up. my rings are from home depot (a little small, but they're 200lb tested)..



should have chosen a different color material, i know, but i'm thinking i may tie-dye it.
it seems a bit small when i put it on, i'm thinking it could be a number of things:
38 weeks pregnant
is thick twill material
may loosen up after washing

anyway, it was a simple project and i'm proud of the results, would love to do another one.
