I just finished making a very simple scarf out of a Paton's acrylic/wool blend for my brother and, to my dismay, I have uneven edges where I cast on and bound off.  This would not usually bother me too much, but it knit it the long way so there are a LOT of boo-boos. 

A friend suggested soaking the whole scarf in cold water and then dipping JUST the edges in very hot water and then letting it dry flat.  What do you all suggest?
