1  Ribbon embroidery pouch in Needlework: Completed Projects by Weddy_in_Paris on: December 15, 2008 08:59:07 AM
I made this little pouch for a swap. I hadn't made any ribbon embroidery for about a year and I enjoyed it.

2  Re: Monthly Dye Alongs 2- SUGGEST A THEME in Dyeing: Discussion and Questions by Weddy_in_Paris on: December 14, 2008 08:32:43 AM
That's my first for our DA. I dyed it yesterday. Obviously the inspiration comes from "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" or better said the words "with tangerine trees and marmelade skies".

Actually, the colors are bit more vivid...

A spinner friend gave me some fiber she dyed. Here is the result of my spinning... It looks like a rainy cloud ! I'm very impatient to weave it (and to wear the scarf ! lol.

4  My first weaving project in Weaving: Completed Projects by Weddy_in_Paris on: July 10, 2008 06:30:33 AM
Some women ask for jewels or perfumes for their birthday. I asked for a small loom. So my parent's gift for my 40th birthday last month was a 32' Ashford Rigid Heddle loom. I didn't manage to try it before yesterday. And this is my first scarf, pure acrylic as I didn't want to spoil nice yarn for my first go. But finally it's a nice fabric, very soft. I love the variegated yarn of the warp. I think I'll get more !

A bunch of violets to welcome spring, which seems not wanting to come at all this year, here...
The purple parts (the "flowers") are more coiled than the green and it's plyed with golden embroidery thread.

Hi everybody ! I want to knit me a stripey colorful jacket for this spring... So I dyed a big batch of wool with Wilton's icing colors last week :

7  My almond green coat in Knitting: Completed Projects by Weddy_in_Paris on: March 20, 2008 04:58:04 AM
Here is my new coat for the spring. Let's hope it will come soon (it's really cold today in France) !
I found the pattern in the winter 2002 Phildar catalog. It's only 2 pieces : easy and fun to knit ! And the chunky yarn goes so fast !

What do you think of it ?

8  Re: THE FEBRUARY GALLERY in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Weddy_in_Paris on: February 29, 2008 06:02:44 AM
Shall I be the last to post an ATC in the february gallery ? Well here is the card I painted a few minutes ago while having coffee after lunch.

My mom feeds the birds in winter on her kitchen window sill... This robin and his mates come all time. I took the picture I got inspired when I was visiting my parents for Christmas. He is so cute and not shy at all, I'm pretty sure he could see me behind the window with the camera ! It's watercolor pencils, watercolor and white acrylic on green egg carton.
I hadn't make any ATC for a while. But I am lurking on this board everyday, you know it... I must confess I sometimes need a goal to do things... So I am waiting eagerly for the next challenge ! So I stop now telling about my life !

9  a 1975 magazine in Vintage Craft Projects by Weddy_in_Paris on: February 14, 2008 02:09:58 PM
I bought this great french crafty magazine some weeks ago on Ebay. It's the issue number 16 of february 1975. I love the main title, slightly subversive (it says "beware of little girls who knit"...). I remember very well this magazine as my mom used to buy it every month (it has been published til the late '80s, about 1987 or so). It was really creative and modern and fun. Sorry to say that no other french magazine can compare with it nowadays.

I posted more pics on my blog if you want to have a look. There's a wonderful quilted jacket and a very pretty coat. 33 years old and no wrinkle !   Wink

Lovely yarns everybody ! I love all your colorful yarns. Here is what I have done this week : some green (commercial dyed) merino to knit a beret. Nothing fancy but I like that color and it suits me fine.
