1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do you do with cut off yarn ends? on: April 06, 2010 04:57:00 PM
What I do is save them all in the large canning jars. They are all so colorful that they make nice room decorations. And I do pack them in so tight, I mean tight! When you'd open the lid they all pop out. It looks really neat from the outside of the jar too. And if ever the day comes that I find a better use for them, I'll have them all right there.

Wow, that is really, really neat! An idea for my toddler. He likes to use clay and make snakes, lizards and frogs. Then he makes a big flat pond for them. I'll give him a coffee jar lid to try this idea on.
Thank you for the idea!

Hi,

I made a large snowman family this past Christmas, but didn't get it quite finished in time, so it got bagged up till July, lol. But what I did was just make circles. Make the bottom circle the size you want, then make a slightly smaller body circle, then an even smaller head circle. Then you can do the extras to decorate, like a hat, scarf, carrot nose, eyes, etc. I did 2 adult and two baby snowman, all different sizes and was going to do dogmans, lol dog snowmen too but never got that far....yet!

Hope this helps ya some Smiley
