So I'm trying to plan out christmas presents for the people in my life. The majority of people will be getting hats & scarves, but there are a few people who I want to make different things for. Here's the people I need more ideas for:
My boyfriend David - I have absolutely no idea, really. I know I'm gonna make him a necklace, but that's all I've got so far. We've been together for a little over seven months. He likes to drink, smoke, NASCAR and Guitar Hero.
David's dad - I have no idea! I can't think of anything. He likes NASCAR, Big Brother, and grilling.
David's brother - I was going to make him a manly diaper bag, but his daughter came way too early and she died, so that nixes that idea. He's a drinker, so I was thinking about doing etched shot glasses.
David's brother's girlfriend - I was going to make her a basket full of baby stuff - little hats, a few blankets, some socks - but since the baby died, I can't do this one either. :/ I don't really know her very well at all... we've only met twice, but I don't want to leave her out.
Hey everyone! So Monday is my birthday, and on Saturday I'm going out with a bunch of friends, and I've just no decided that I want to make a dress. I have this humongous gold curtain sash that I've been wanting to turn into a dress and a matching purse. The problem? Well, I want to have a color other then gold on it - I was thinking about doing a band around the waist, the straps and the neckline in the second color.
So I'm trying to log onto Burdastyle.com's website so I can download some patterns, and it won't let me log in - it keeps giving me errors ("Your log in information is not valid. Please try again." when I JUST re-joined because it wouldn't let me sign in with KiaraG - argh!). I was wondering if anyone had the following patterns.
Hey everyone! I made my first purse in almost eight months today. I had this khaki colored camo bandana that I bought last year to go with a camo shirt in mostly the same colors. This was made without a pattern, as are most of my purses. The strap is a little under 19″ inches long; the purse is a little under 6″ inches wide and just over 4″ inches tall. It's perfect for my essentials when I go a friend's band play - my driver's license, some cash, chapstick, my cell phone, a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. There's still some work left to be done on it; I need to get velcro for the closure, and try and find some khaki colored bias tape or ribbon to sew around the top, so you can't see my stitching (it'll go on the inside, too). And the best part? I'm going to get one of those mountain climbing clips (what are they called? it starts with a c, I think), and then I can attach both my car keys and my purse to the clip, and then to a belt loop.
Hey everyone! I've been poring over fabric sites the past few days, and can not find what I need. I need two fabrics, both stripes - any combo of red pink & white, and black & white. I need actual stripes for the black & white, but the red pink & white can be plaid. Has anyone seen anything like I've described lately?
Okay, just a quick question for all you beading people - I want to make a pair of dangly earrings. The problem? Well, I want to use light-weight jewelry thread so that the earrings swing back and forth with no encouragement (and so they're not so heavy - my ears hurt after fifteen minutes of heavy earrings). I'm trying to figure out a way to tie off the end of the dangles so the earrings don't fall off; tying knots isn't working and looks terrible. The earring is basically this: an earwire with a small O Ring attached; three or four strands of seed beads hanging down, from the O ring, unattached to each other. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hello! I'm new here... well, not exactly new; I was here last year, but I pretty much just lurked. I'm 21 years old (22 on the 17 of this month), and I have a daughter named Ariel who will be two on Valentine's Day. I'm also pseudo-stepmommy to my boyfriend's almost-three-year-old son. I enjoy doing lots of different crafts - clothes (mostly purses and clothes, including reconstruction), jewelry making, home decor, book making, and cross stitch - just to name a few. Oh, I also enjoy photography, and am fixing to start selling off a bunch of my crafts in order to afford a new camera and some lenses.
