With spring air, and flowers blooming and renaissance faires opening,

like make wings, or accessories, art, books, scents, dolls...

Let me know, I wouldn't mind trying to take on organizing this, for the first time.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Safari Pillow set for 17th Bday on: January 14, 2012 06:52:16 PM
So yeah, tomorrow is my cousin's 17th bday and I had not a clue what to get her, so my aunt suggested she needed new pillows. And after looking at Pillows that fitted the theme, but were out of budget, (40$ for one pillow  Shocked ) I decided to make her some.

The round pillow, I just started and found out how frustrating a a round end can be, when you don't measure, but oh well.

And the big Giraffe Print pillow, has "ornament" corners that I pulled out of my bead bag, the ends are little dingly bells.

And here is the fabric, because it all came together when I saw the stripes on the tulle.
4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for modifying Boots & Slippers? on: December 30, 2011 02:36:36 PM
It's official! I have weird feet, tiny, but wide and of course, soccer thights that prevent me from wearing boots!
So I have these boots, and way back when I could torture myself into them, but now, they gap open 4 1/2" wide and 5" from the top. So I wondered if I could add more fabric, or what would be my other options.
They are pleather with white thread,

And then I just bought these crochet slippers for 2 bucks, without trying them on, and go figure, my foot is too wide to get in.
So again, should I tear them apart and try to match the fabric? What would be the best tool to get them parted without ripping?

Thanks for ANY help!

This was made for my partner of the Book of shadow swap.

It's a silver chain, with 3 silver beads and a bell at the end of those. One has a Moon pendant and a red crystal and the other a sun and a apple pendant.

They came from going through my jewelry supply box, not planned at all.

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / How to "Fuse" wire. (welding/soldering) on: July 09, 2011 08:34:48 PM
Okay, so I don't know the terms, but I want to make some butterfly wings for a hairclip out of wire. And "fuse" it to a metal hair clip. Nothing bigger than 3 inches.

My dad bought me a butane torch with a removeable soldering iron tip and after that a different butane torch.
What else would I need and what is the best wire out there?  Huh

Or should I just blow it off and buy the expensive metal clay.

Thanks for help in advance.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Your Soul and my secret Necklaces. on: July 08, 2011 03:25:11 PM
I call this one the 'I capture your soul and fly away with it' *gasp*

Plastic shrink wings.

And this one, is the 'My secret' necklace, lot's of planning, lot's of trial and not the result I wanted.

(I love the 'L' on the key, it's like it stands for Love or something.)

Antique brass key my exboyfriend send me. And a plastic thread. I am fearing that the teeth of the book clamp ends will cut the plastic and it will fall. I hope not.
The reason I am not too pleased with it, is,
1. I didn't think about the key when I arranged the length of the necklaces.
2. one necklace is mixed up, so one end is tangled.
And of course, I super glued the ends, so that there will be more support for the plastic thread and now I can't take it apart.  Sad Oh well, I now know for next time. I hope.
10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Brother Needle Threader won't move on: June 20, 2011 11:05:31 AM
I have a Brother Cs 6000i, and for some reason, the needle threader doesn't swing around anymore when the lever is pulled down.
I feel like a ditz but I can't recall if the metal hooks are suppose to be in the position they are in right now. If they aren't, I wouldn't have a clue how they go there, anybody know how this could have happened? I replaced the regular foot with the button hole foot the other day. That's all.
Here is a picture with the lever pulled all the way down, the double hook should be pointing at "you" but it's pointing up, and isn't swung around.

Any idea how I can fix this, before I hit up brother.

Thank you!
