1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Looking for vintage style pattern on: January 24, 2011 02:27:19 PM
Awesome. Thanks everyone! I've never tried a vintage pattern because the sizing seemed to be so off. I don't think I'm ready to start re-sizing things. Maybe in the future.

I'm looking for a dress pattern that looks like this http://heartbreakerfashion.com/diner-dress-navy.html

I'm having a hard time since most dresses aren't this full anymore. I've concluded that sewing pattern companies put the ugliest example of a pattern they can find and slap it on the envelope. I can't see past the ugliness.

I've also seen a lot of actual vintage patterns that are similar, but they are way too small.

Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I'm going to China for a few weeks. Hopefully, I'll be able to write up a pattern when I get back.

My brother requested this hat a long time ago based off some girl he saw on a bus. This took a lot of trial and error. I ended up adapting a coaster pattern for the ear parts.  Only a couple of pics since he had to go on a trip and wanted to take it with him. I could probably post a pattern when I get around to it. After many failed attempts and procrastination, here it is.

My brother in his hat. He requested pink, more of a manly dusty rose

Some charts added. If anyone wants a different character, pm me, and I can provide the basis.

I made this Street Fighter scarf for my boyfriend based on these megaman-inspired sprites http://www.capcom-unity.com/street_fighter/go/thread/view/7411/20179857/Mega_ManInspired_Street_Fighter_4_Sprites as an early X-mas present.

I only used 6 characters because if I actually used them all this scarf would be about 500 ft long.  These are the ones he wanted. Dan is his favorite.

I also blanket-stitched black fleece to the back to add some warmth/to prevent curling.

In use by boyfriend--Dan Hibiki head

Each character has a life bar.  They are supposed to be battling the character on the other side of the scarf.

Charts Added - These are the only ones I graphed out.

It was very nice. I miss my childhood days because of the nintendo. I'm not good at knitting but I will definitely try it. Do you have some designs other than this? Pls share them.
