I recently took a class through my local quilt guild that was outside my box and a bit of a challenge.
The class was based on Jean Wells' techniques. We didn't use rulers for any of the cutting, there was no specific pattern to follow and we had to use mainly solids.
I did keep to a color palette that was comfortable for me since the rest of the process was not.
Anyway, this is my finished piece. It is about 17" by 18" and still needs quilting, but I haven't decided yet on what thread I should use or what type of quilting would enhance the overall piece.
Any suggestions would be wonderful.

A couple weeks ago I made these quilts for my niece and nephew to have on a long car ride. They are simple because I decided to do this at the last minute. 
Everything was from my stash and the tops were done from fat quarters. I also tried a raw edge binding on the one for my niece and I like how it turned out. These finished about 40" square.

Lately, I have been trying to work on unfinished projects that have been sitting in my stash and this is the result of one of them.
This originally was a block of the month program that I joined at a local quilt shop in 2008.  Each month we were supposed to make 1 15" block and at the end of the year we would have 12 blocks to make into a nice size quilt.
Well, I completed 3 blocks and that is as far as I ever got with this project.  So a couple nights ago I pulled them out and stitched them together into a table runner.  I was in a mood for completion so I opted to not do a traditional binding and quilted the runner with some simple straight line stitching.
I figure this way I can at least enjoy the few blocks I did finish and knock something off my seemingly endless list.

I participated in the novelty fat quarter swap and received these 2 sewing themed fat quarters from MareMare.  I made this fabric basket as part of a grand prize drawing for my quilt guild. 
For size reference there are 36 fat quarters in the basket.  I made it by combining and modifying 3 different fabric basket patterns.  I like how it turned out (except that I forgot to topstitch my pockets ).

I was going through my stash to make some quilts to donate to kids in crisis situations.
This is what I ended up making.  It is still in its "summer weight" state, but I will be quilting it soon.

I wasn't really sure where this should go, but since it was meant to be an art piece for the wall I decided to post it here.

I made this for my partner in the Make-a-Friend swap.  I saw this on a blog and thought it was neat. 

It is paper wrapped wire that I shaped into the first initial of my partner's name.  Then I wrapped the wire in fabric and added items that relate to things she likes.  There is a teapot and cup at the top, cupcake in the center and sewing machine and thread at the bottom.

It was a fun project and I plan to take it a little further.  I want to shape some words to hang on the walls of our new house.  It will be a little while before I get to making them though as we won't be moving for about a month.

I made this quilt for the Make-a-Friend swap.

The pictures aren't the best.  The backing fabric looks like tweed and coordinates with the front better than it looks like it does in the pictures.

I made this for the Fabric Lovers Scavenger Hunt swap.
It was fun to make.  I have some fabric bowls I made years ago on my sewing table to hold odds and ends.  I like this little basket better and think I will make one for myself.

I made this for the Fabric Lovers Scavenger Hunt swap.  My partner had the birdcage fabric on her wist and I knew I had it in my stash.  I decided I had to make her something using the fabric.  I had a pattern for some drawstring bags and thought this would be a good way to use the fabric.
I also used a product called Texture Magic to create the bumpy textured bottom.
