21  Re: Spell My Name Round 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Deece in MN on: April 22, 2012 08:37:39 AM
Here is the most awesome package I received from WhimsicallyObsessed .  She really hit the nail on the head with everything.

The D is for "Down the rabbit hole embroidery hoop"...

I love Alice in Wonderland.  This will go perfectly hanging next to an Alice themed wall hanging my daughter made me.  I am going to start a little Alice in Wonderland display.

E is for "Eagle pose travel bag"....

I do yoga and my favorite color is orange.  They have been combined wonderfully into this travel bag.  The painting on this bag is amazing!  Love it!

N is for "Nature inspired necklace"....

The beads are beautiful.  I am planning on wearing it to work tomorrow.

I is for "I know what I know reusable bag"...

I love this bag!  It is a stenciled Paul Simon!!  He is my favorite music artist.

Here is the back of the bag with lyrics to his "I Know What I Know" song.  Can't say enough how much I love this bag. Smiley

S is for "Sudoku pillow"....

I love sudoku puzzles, so this pillow is a nod to that.  It is adorable and I really like the fabric on the back, too. Smiley

E is for "Evening Angels and Epcot Center magnets"....

Evening Angels is a print by James C. Christensen.  I collect his prints and figurines.  I have Evening Angels hanging in my dining room (WhimsicallyObsessed did not know that). Smiley
I also love anything Disney.  The magnets are awesome and are on my fridge right now.

This is a picture of the card she sent along with the stamps she carved.  I wish I could do stuff like this!

She made beautiful painted cards of the letters of my name.  Love them!

I love receiving crafts that I can't do.  This package is absolutely amazing!!
Thank you!!

I have received from Leslieshappyheart and it couldn't have arrived at a better time!
This badge makes me smile and I really needed that.  Thank you!

Leslie's work is impeccable!
Hers was done when I received this, but I hear you about swap anxiety! Smiley

I should be sending next week (hopefully to bobomom as well).

Fun, fun swap; looking forward to another round. Smiley

24  Re: 4x6 Art swap Gallery of Greatness! in The Swap Gallery by Deece in MN on: April 07, 2012 05:51:58 PM
I received today from mlookyloo1.  I love it!  Funny side note, I was at a quilt shop today that had 2 books about zentangle art.  I hadn't heard of it before so I flipped through the books and thought it was pretty cool.  Then I get home today and find my art swap package.  Lo and behold, I received a piece of zentangle art!

Sorry to make a short story long, but I thought it was amusing.
Anyway, here is the art...

25  Re: Crafted Cushion Cover Swap Gallery (SO Mar12) in The Swap Gallery by Deece in MN on: March 10, 2012 04:47:47 PM
Here is the cover I received from Homerof2.  I love it!  It brings a shot of color that my dull living room needs.  Our furniture was a hand-me-down from my mom.  I am lucky to have a generous mother, but the colors are a little on the dark/dull/boring side for me. Smiley

Anyway, here is the awesome pillow!

Here is a closer picture of the beautifully crocheted flowers.  They have such great texture. Love, love, love them!

Thanks!  This was a great swap. Smiley

26  Re: Fabric Basket Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Deece in MN on: March 07, 2012 01:58:04 PM
Here are the goodies I received from ckchan.

The basket is so great (my 3 favorite colors Smiley )!

Then there is a cute pincushion made from a little clay pot.  Stickers!  I love stickers and ckchan made them all in a crafty theme.  Can't wait to start putting them on stuff!

This is everything together.  She also sent me a couple puzzle books.  I love these things!  My husband and daughter have already tried taking them. Smiley

Thanks, ckchan!  Great swap. Smiley

29  Re: Craft This Tote Round 2! - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Deece in MN on: February 04, 2012 05:34:39 AM
I received my package of goodies yesterday from Koreena.  Such an amazing package!

First, the bag.  Love it!  The personalization on the pocket is great (love that you used my nickname!).  Even my son said it was "pretty cool". Smiley

Then there is a zippered pouch.  Love the buttons and the dimensional flower.  Very cute!

Then there are two necklaces with two of my favorite themes (not sure if I even mentioned these themes Smiley ).  I love anything with words/writing and I have had a thing for trees lately.  These are great and I can't wait to wear them.

Then there is the most awesome scarf ever!  I put it on and saw the buttons and thought "oh, how cute there are some buttons".  Duh, on closer look, they are the eyes of an owl!  I love this scarf and it goes perfectly with my coat and gloves.  Best of all, I needed a new scarf!

I also received a little clip-on cozy from the university where Koreena works (correct me if I am wrong on that Smiley ).
I love receiving local items like that, especially from other countries.  I didn't post a pic because it had specific location information and I wasn't sure of comfort levels with posting that kind of thing.

Thank you, Koreena!  This was a great swap!

30  wall art I made for a swap in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Deece in MN on: August 17, 2011 09:23:31 AM
I wasn't really sure where this should go, but since it was meant to be an art piece for the wall I decided to post it here. Smiley

I made this for my partner in the Make-a-Friend swap.  I saw this on a blog and thought it was neat.

It is paper wrapped wire that I shaped into the first initial of my partner's name.  Then I wrapped the wire in fabric and added items that relate to things she likes.  There is a teapot and cup at the top, cupcake in the center and sewing machine and thread at the bottom.

It was a fun project and I plan to take it a little further.  I want to shape some words to hang on the walls of our new house.  It will be a little while before I get to making them though as we won't be moving for about a month.

Anyway, here it is:

Thanks for looking. Smiley
