Do you find the bat? I love that it's so subtle

And the charms

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

2  Handstitched fly (free translated) plus How-to in Needlework: Completed Projects by princesspepper on: June 03, 2008 03:17:00 AM
I love my book from 1976 "The practical handbook for every housewife". And there I found this so called handstitched fly. It was used to strengthen heavy-used parts of a garment like pockets or pleats. And I could use it for a jumpsuit I sew at the moment.
And it came out so beautiful that I also stitched it on the pockets of my trousers. Honestly I want to stitch it everywhere now.  Wink
On my trousers:

On the jumpsuit:

So, here is the picture from my book:

I'll try to translate the instructions:
Mark a isosceles triangle on the right side of your fabric. Go from the left corner the top with a little stitch from right to left (1). Then to the right corner of the triangle . And back to first stitch(2). Is just important to know that you set the stitches always thread besides thread(3) till the triangle is filled (4).

Hope that makes sense...

3  Re: Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Rd. 4 in The Swap Gallery by princesspepper on: June 02, 2008 04:25:40 AM
So, I finally found the time to my dishclothgoodies from Maltiriel.
First, a lovely lovely dishcloth with a cherry. I love cherries!!!

Then the AMAZING spiderweb dishcloth. The coolest thing ever!!!

Then she send me some postcards with pictures from New Mexico. I'm jealous when I look outside my own window and it's raining...

BUT now i can tell everybody that I've been to New Mexico cause she also sends me this nice keychain. (BTW, I'm addicted to chili...)

Thank you so much Maltiriel. Yours will be the first dishcloths I'll ever use. (What a honour  Wink )

I've got a few things to add since my partners camera isn't workink properly. I've only cellphonepics myself so don't mind the blurriness.
Here's a little wallet made of capri-sonne:

Two journals made of scrap-paper with a reuseable bookcover and a penholder made of an old purse:

And a bag crocheted out of VHS-tapes. That was the hardest part and took me forever. But the black tape glitters very much what I really like:

Thanks for looking!

So, here's the amazing stuff I've received yesterday from monkey_see_monkey_d o. I'm so so so happy!!!
First, two really cute towels, embroidered by her. I don't think I can dry my dishes with them. I want to hang them up my wall and smile everytime I look at them.

Isn't he just the cutest thing ever?

Then the coolest bags. I love the black and white one with my initial on it. I also love the jeans one, it's perfect or shopping because the fabric is so thick and firm.

oops, ignore my foot.

And a detail of this little monkey. My first thought was: How does she know I love monkeys? then it came to my head that her name is monkey_see_monkey_d o. And monkey did great!

Finally this perfect journal. I just love. I want to carry it around with me all day without writing anything in it.

the inside

As you can imagine I'm so happy with all of these.
Thank you again and again and again!!!

6  Re: Favorite Band Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by princesspepper on: March 04, 2008 04:51:04 AM
I know it's been ages ago, but since my partner hasn't posted any pictures I thought I share what I made.
Her favourite band was a Korean boyband named Big Bang.
First a bookmark with a Big Bang logo and her name

A photoframe with pictures of them. Everyone in the band has his own symbol.

A sleepingmask (?) with the logo made from velvet on it. front:

And back:

A wallet with the same logo on it:

And on the back her favourite member of the band:

And the bag. front:

And back:

It was fun to make even though this isn't my kind of music.

7  Knitting with beads - SKULL in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by princesspepper on: February 26, 2008 06:39:28 AM
I've made this for a friend who loves skulls
I thought that it'll take me not more than 2 hours. Ha Ha.
It was such a pain in the a to get the beads onto my thick yarn.
I tried the nailpolish trick mentioned in the book which leaves me sitting with red sticky fingers (I had only red nailpolish left) waiting for it to dry.
It never dries.
Then I invented a trick (clever me) which includes a needle, sewing thread and something we call Einfdelhilfe here.
6 hours later my present was ready.

She was very happy. that's all that counts in the end, isn't it?

9  Re: Silly Swap International Gallery in The Swap Gallery by princesspepper on: January 30, 2008 04:17:19 AM
I've knitted like crazy the last few days and I've finished my entrelacscarf. It isn't blocked yet and I have to weave in the ends.
I call it the  mermaidscarf, it's really soft, with several shades of green and it glitters all over. Hope you can imagine from the pictures.

Hope anyone likes it...
