2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / sketch books on: August 10, 2015 10:02:43 AM
I laid down my painting and drawing for many years. I've been busy raising children. Now that they've gone back to school I have more time to indulge.
Just some things I've done in the last 3 weeks:
Watercolor:

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Nananananana Batman! on: May 26, 2014 12:03:16 AM
I love a challenge, and this doll gave plenty to figure out for the first time. The Batman costume is removable. The back is made with a knit fabric and has snaps. Even so, after figuring out most things, I am still not satisfied with my shoe making. Something to work on, I guess.

And one more, as the wealthy playboy, Bruce Wayne.

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Divya a Christmas Elf from India on: December 02, 2013 11:00:29 AM
I've had so much fun making dolls with all different skin hues. Making elves from around the world has given me an opportunity to expand my creativity and learn some new techniques.

This is Divya, my Indian elf. She wears a traditional Punjabi and facial jewelry including a bindi (forehead jewel) which represents the third eye.
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Things get a little Trixie at Christmas on: November 12, 2013 04:02:52 PM
Sometimes when inspiration hits I just have to go with it and let the muse take over. This means that the house is a mess and the laundry is piling up. When I was thinking about decorating my tree this year with my Christmas elves, I thought it would be fun to have one who had fallen off her perch. And that's how Trixie was born.
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Have Yourself a Dr Who Christmas on: November 12, 2013 03:15:49 PM
A friend asked me to make my Dr Who Weeping Angel doll into a larger version that she could use as a tree topper. I  thought that was a fabulous idea! I can just see the tree decorated with red bow ties, Tardis, Dalek and Adipose ornaments all over it! Fun!

Instead of making her lower body of trapezoids all sewn together and stuffed, I attached her torso to a paper mache cone, and hot glued her dress around the bottom.
