i got a pencil today and got it done- annoyingly it's one of those swallows (like a retro tattoo) which i absolutely cannot draw freehand  Grin

76  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / drum sticks? on: August 30, 2007 03:16:07 PM
weird question... but has anyone tried knitting super super uber chunky with drumsticks? or is the general idea that they're not.... pointy enough?   Grin

77  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Argh! on: August 30, 2007 03:12:09 PM
where I use a pattern only once and it crapps out on me.
lol thats just the right phrase! i'll try to pick one up tomorrow- i was just so into it- i guess i had a bad run of transfers... i mean i was even thinking the change in weather (from mild to wet) may have fiddled my work--- well not that the weather gets into my house but you know Tongue
thanks!

78  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: Argh! on: August 30, 2007 01:16:26 PM
thanks for the quick reply! i'm going a little mad.. keep thinking i must be crazy!
i used the banner transfer for the very first time yesterday- the book is being kept on an ordinary dry/cool bookshelf.. thats what i don't understand...
it's kinda frustrating as i KNOW the banner worked yesterday- and now nothing is coming out of ANY of the new (and unused) transfers! total weirdness... i wonder if anyone has had the same problems?

79  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted Roman (update- Harry Potter p2) on: August 30, 2007 12:15:05 PM
Thought i'd share a lil knitted roman i made for one of my friends who reads classics at uni. The pattern is from a book thats about the same age as me- 'Knitted Toys' by Jean Greenhowe (isbn: 0 600 50286 4)

hope you like him! i've also made a polysic (a japanese electro-rock band) for my boyfriend and am currently making a harry potter for my bf's brother- so i'll post him asap!

80  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Argh! (done!!) on: August 30, 2007 11:32:27 AM
okay i'm totally new to posting on crafster- i'm a total lurker- but HAD to join as i love it soo much!
ok glush over Grin
i've got the sublime stitching book and i adore it- done a few projects- a dress with the tattoo birds, and a tote bag.
But i started a new project  yesterday- some PE (physical education) bags from some little girls a friend of mine babysits... this will sound weird but the transfers stopped working- i got a banner transferred and stitched perfectly  Cool yesterday...
but now none of the new transfers will... well transfer.
The bags are ordinary cotton... and i've done nothing to them from yesterday i swear  Tongue

it's just totally perplexing and i gave myself a headache getting angry...   Roll Eyes

any help or advice from seasoned stitchers would be soo welcome!
thanks!
xx
