i've been trying to make a big variety of things the past few months but i only recently got a chance to take some pictures. its been busy but super fun and satisfying!
i don't usually do HUUUUGE things or use this much color, but a friend asked me to make a rainbow scarf so when i started to crochet it turned into this monster. i ended up making her one back to scale, so now i'm left with this big guy for the record, its only 8 inches wide but around 14 feet long. (oopsie!)
When i finally get to come home at the end of the semester, i try to do as much crafting as possible. lately i've been having a lot of fun buying mom jeans from goodwill and savers and other thrift stores and making cool shorts out of them. first i did a lot of pairs with the "ombre" bleached look, but this week i made a pair that i LOVE using the same technique but with dye instead of bleach. so i just wanted to show them off a bit!
this came from a pair of blue dkny jeans:
and then this is some of the pairs i did before using just bleach
last week at a fair, the booth next to me had printed out a QR code which i thought was a pretty cool idea. i made some and i'm thinking of printing them for my table for the next fair i'm doing, but i'm not sure how responsive people are to them, or if they even bother with them at all.
if you're unfamiliar with them, they're little digital-looking images people can read with their smart phones that will take them to a specific website. i made one for etsy and facebook, which i think would be all i need for a fair. this is an example:
lately i've been on a bow-making kick. they're super fun to make and its a great excuse to pick up pretty little prints that i like at the fabric store. i tried not to upload every picture, and i have way more, but here are some of my favorites. hope you like them!
i know we all have spring to look forward to, but the truth is that its still pretty cold. and i'm only in connecticut so i can imagine whats its like for some of you up in the mountains. here's some things i've been knitting!
this first one is a pretty simple beanie. i really liked the yarn so i wanted to do something nice with it and not distract away from the great quality.
next is a big squishy cowl. i found this yarn in a plain old arts and crafts store but its so soft and great, i couldn't believe it!
this one i've actually been working on for a while. i love how drop stitching works but it kind of takes a while.
the next two are spring beanies, so they're a little lighter and looser from the head. the green one is silky and light.
then this last one i love a lot because i used cascade magnum yarn. a little pricey, but totally worth it.
we've been having a ton of snow days at school, and i've been doing anything to keep busy trapped in my dorm. so one day i knit the whole time and watched movies and here's what i came out with.
i've been thinking about making this dress for a while, and finally gave it a shot! i meant to cut the back higher, but there's always a mistake or two haha its made out of stretchy black knit and polka dot lace. hope you like it!
i'm sure this has been asked hundreds of times, but i'd like to make my boyfriend a plain old earflap hat. there's a lot that have like different stitches and styles, but he just wants a plain one that im going to later fleece line. anyone know where i can find that?
