1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / wire wrapped / weaved necklace on: February 26, 2015 09:29:08 PM
I made this today. I am really pleased with how it came out but I kind of cheated because I used a video tutorial to show me what to do. However I learnt some techniques from it so my plan today is to use some of those techniques and make my own design. Wish me luck! Smiley (I have pictures not in a collage if anybody is interested)
The stone is Labradorite Smiley

I made this pendant for my MILs birthday present. The stone in the middle is Labradorite.  Sorry the picture is not brilliant+
slightly annoyed as just realised I photographed the back!  Picture the wires the other way round lol!

If there is interest I will happily host a second Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / kumihimo and agate ring. on: February 10, 2015 05:06:52 PM
I made myself this pretty ring Smiley my hands/fingers are massive (my husband and I have the same wedding ring...but mine is a good few sizes bigger...Despite the fact he towers over me and is a lot more well built and overweight than I am! ) so I wanted something pretty but not too delicate. I used macram to create the ring out of S-lon thread and added a 12 mm purple banded Agate.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / wire wrapped necklace. on: February 09, 2015 04:05:05 PM
Made this pendant today. The stones are Lapis Lazuli (tear dropped shape) and Labradorite. Hope you like!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Waistcoat lining/facing help needed please on: December 18, 2014 01:36:41 PM
Hiya, I am a fairly new sewer, made some bags and a skirt for myself etc but am now trying to make my husband a waistcoat for Christmas. I was getting along nicely and feeling proud of myself until I got to the instruction to sew the front facing and the front lining together with right sides together. And I am completely stuck! I know what right side together means, but my facing and lining are not the same shape when right sides are together. Should they be? The curves are the same in that it looks like they have been "spooning" position but whichever piece of front lining I put the savings on I can't get them to match up!! I hope this makes sense and somebody 42cm help! I have spent a good 4 hours trying to figure this out, and it really needs to be completed by the end of tomorrow!
I hope that this makes sense thanks for taking the time to read it =)
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Tannin free? on: December 06, 2014 03:05:00 AM
Hello I would like to make some soaps for my grandmas Christmas present. She is hyper allergic to tannins. I know they are contained in lanolin which, most bought soaps contain but doing a quick search online says, they are also in, most fragrances and colours contain it! Does anyone have a recipe or just know what products don't use it? I've tried Google but found all the results rather confusing! Thanks in advance for any help =)
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / How to twist on: October 15, 2014 04:07:19 AM
Hiya, I bought a kit to make this necklace. It is macram string with 6 strings of beads twisted together. The pattern does not tell me how to do the twist though and whatever I do keeps coming untwisted. Anybody know how I can make it stay twisted? I am happy to undo if needs be.
This is how it should look (though it should be tighter)

This is how it does look.

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Lacey bracelet! on: September 27, 2014 01:05:15 PM
I REALLY need to practise my product photography so apologies for fairly crap photos - but I made this bracelet for myself recently - I never make anything for myself - so therefore I figured I should share this momentous occasion! If anybody knows any good resources re: product photography - please let me know!

It does not look so wonky while being worn!

And here is a  close up to show the detail -it is emerald green with purple joining beads.

constructive criticism welcomed Smiley
