Love that penguin and ut is purple I am a complete purple freak!

I have had a nightmare of a day today.  This morning my clasp arrived in the post so I sat down to finish my bracelet.  I kept getting tangled so it took about 2 hours more than I had planned.  Still eventually it was finished and I was really happy with it.  The kitchen table was buried under a pile of my craft stuff so having finished my bracelet I went to tidy up.  I took it with me as I planned to take a photo once I had tidied. The bracelet sat on the table in front of me.  All was good.  Finally there was nothing left on the table. And I mean NOTHING! The bracelet had vanished!  Thus commenced getting everything back out I had put away, going through the bin, swearing about the amount of hours I had put in to it. Freaking out about what I was going to do.  All to no avail I can not find it anywhere Cry my husband is going to have a look for me in the morning so I am keeping everything crossed he has more luck than me.

This evening I spent the whole of The Shawshank Redemption and even suffered 5hrough my husband watching his football making plan c! I am still desperately hoping to find it and if I do I shall add it to the following but for now my offer is this jewellery set. Made up of glass and metal beads, memory wire and other threading stuff. I really hope you like them!

I have received a few things so far Smiley sorry it has taken me a while to update pics!

I received pretty blue bracelets from gala_apples, thank you Cheesy

wonderful first aid kit from Watsonc7 - this will be so useful!

stencilled T-shirt from Eiseldora - so chuffed with this! I have just taken a pic of the design so you can get all the detail - unfortunately for my husband it fits! (thought it would be too big - it is, but not so that it looks silly Smiley )

and lastly a beautiful globe necklace from Raraavis - this is so pretty!

thank you all Smiley

Bought something super cool to put in my final package and put it away a couple of weeks ago. where the hell did i put it??!!  The last time I posted something like this, I found the object in less than a day, so I hope that just posting this will make it show up!  (-;

That is too funny! I always find it the day after I send the package.

I only find it a few months later when I forget why I have it in the first place. (Our apartment is a total mess. Usually it gets lost because of attempts at cleaning, and putting it somewhere I'm sure to find it... though I don't, of course.)

Things here tend to get lost because my husband has tidied up and put it somewhere safe - when left to be my own messy self I always know where everything is - MEN!!!

I have been MIA again - I apologise! I ended up in hospital Thursday night, was released Sunday morning - and have been recovering ever since! I ended up on a ward of 4 beds - and after Friday night, had it all to myself - so Anuenue kindly kept me company.

Here she is looking out of the ward window, half wishing to get out of the hospital - half thankful to be tucked up in the warmth and avoiding the miserable weather!

We will be going to my cousins 30th Birthday party on Friday - so I will try and get some photos of her there - then over the weekend we will go for a walk around a local lake. I also plan on taking her to the zoo before I send her home - so will get pics there. There are a couple of other local places I must show her also! I'm afraid due to my health (and forgetting her over Christmas - mean carer!) we have not had a chance to do half as much as I would have liked - but will try to get some last minute trips in!

54  Purple 'spike' necklace and earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: January 29, 2014 05:16:50 PM
Having made two sets of jewellery for my Cousin's birthday present I decided I ought to make myself a pair to wear to her party! It is fancy dress and I will be wearing long gloves (I am going as purple from head to toe, including a wig- and possibly facepaint! Purple is her fave colour - and mine, and the theme is something which reminds you of her)

The necklace is a simple strung necklace - but I think it is effective! The circles between the 'spikes' (I'm sure they have a proper name?!) are little amethysyts received in the recent bead soup swap - and the spikes are transparent purple/bluey glass

the earrings:

hope you like them Smiley

55  Amethyst red glass and silver jewellery set in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: January 29, 2014 05:10:42 PM
This is the second jewellery set I made for my Cousin for her 30th birthday present - I received the red glass and the purple delicas from my partner in the bead soup swap - thank you Smiley

The necklace, I am slightly unsure about this - but hope she will like it regardless:

The peyote bracelet - my partner in the bead soup swap asked if I had ever tried to peyote with delicas, I hadn't - she sent me lots of them to play with - and I used some of the purple for this as well as some red and silver I had ordered to play with after she suggested them Smiley

the earrings - they don't look much when they are flat - but the only photo I got of them hanging was out of focus - so am uploading both of them and you can hopefully get an idea Smiley

(I really need to improve my loop making!)

finally here is everything together:

56  Amethyst and Garnet jewellery set in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: January 29, 2014 05:03:11 PM
I started getting into jewellery making 'properly' (ie not just strung acrylic beads) in November 2013 - and am really loving it - and still learning new techniques! This is a set of jewellery I made for my Cousins  30th Birthday present on Friday - purple is her favourite colour hence the amethyst - and Garnet is Januarys birthstone.

This is the whole set, consisting of cuff, necklace and earrings.

My partner in the recent bead soup swap sent me the amethysts - thank you Smiley She also made me a similar cuff from lots of different purple beads - the cuff in that set was inspired by the one she sent me.
My inspiration:

My creation:

The necklace is the first time I have used memory wire - so not brilliant, but I am pleased with it regardless:

The heart is amethyst - and was rescued from a necklace I found in a charity shop - be proud of me P_E_S_T Wink

the earrings are really really simple and tbh I wouldnt consider them a 'craft' but they are here for completions sake:

I always stress re: giving handmade things as presents - so I REALLY hope she likes them! I have made her another set which I will upload now Smiley

Yay I need to get me one of those swap kits!  Love the food too but would have no use for it unfortunately!

Here is a picture showing the soap kits I will be offering.  There will be one flannel one candle (Jasmine scented) and one of the three soaps which have a purple top full of dried lavender and an orange coloured base scented with patchouli which have a small bit of dried plant at the bottom.

I then received from anna.wahnsinn - and am absolutely blown away by the amount and quality of what she sent - this is going to be even more pic heavy!
I'm starting with a picture of everything - just to show the sheer scale of it:

Purple is my favourite colour, and Amethyst my favourite stone - she sent a selection of different sized round amethyst beads:

I also told her I loved heart shaped beads - and she sent a load of those as well!

Purple and hearts - perfect!!!

Some blue round beads (I think they're ceramic) they're very pretty

A lovely selection of green beads

two packets of different sized beautiful red beads:

a big supply of Delicas - we had been discussing peyote and she said delicas worked really well instead of seed beads - I hadn't got any, but ordered a couple of packets to give them a go on her recommendation - and then she sent an extra 5 bags full - I couldn't believe the amount! Three different purples, black and green

As if that wasn't enough - she included some beading wire:

and a beautiful bracelet - which is SO me!

Picking a favourite here was hard - I am LOVING the effect of Delicas on a bracelet I am making, being an amethyst lover I am amazed at all the beautiful amethyst beads she bought - they will be well used! However I fell in love with this bead:

thank you so much - I really hope I have included everything - got slightly confused!!!!

Sorry this is slightly late! On Sunday we went to our local chain craft shop - Hobby craft, it is about a 40 minute drive from here, so I always end up spending too much money as we don't go very often! Anyhow here is a pic of Anuenue outside - forgive my husbands arm!!
