51  Re: craft the Rainbow gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ratfinkz on: June 02, 2014 03:16:26 PM
I have a massive apology to make to ybunnygurl, I had forgotten I had not yet got photos up! I am so sorry - I really hope people are still watching this gallery cos her work deserves to be shared!

red:

Gryffindor trunk with lego / badges and a sticker inside:

Orange:
Tigger frame with lovely original style Pooh picture

Yellow and Green were fold up bags to go in my handbag - but she had decorated the fronts of them! They fold up this small:

Yellow was my all time favourite flowers: Daffodils!

and green was a Dragon - I LOVE dragons!

blue was a hammock for my ratties:

Indigo was a T-shirt, which I promptly put on it has since been washed and I am currently wearing it again! Smiley

(action shot from when we went to visit friends for an evening)

and Violet - well, violet was a purple patchwork skirt! I have wanted one of those for SO long - and I love this one, I have been living in it and it is currently in the wash - but as soon as it is out I shall take an action shot and post it!

Thank you very much I enjoyed swapping with you!  I am sorry you were disappointed with what I sent you though. Maybe one day we can be partners again and I can make it up to you Smiley

Oops I forgot my beautiful rainbow bag - which I was using this evening, sorry!

Just a few hours after my last post I got a new friend Smiley

Milo was very tired after all the adventures of his journey so he slept most of the day but he did take time to help me do some crafting:

He came bearing gifts of some funky soft toy patterns and some very pretty fabric which was very kind of him Smiley and very appreciated

55  beaded dragonfly. in Beads: Completed Projects by Ratfinkz on: May 02, 2014 05:26:00 PM
I found this pin on a recent swap partners pinterest and fell in love! I tried to create one for my partner and after many hours and 10 times of starting again had something I was fairly happy to send. Dragonflies remind me of my grandma and as it is her birthday on Monday I decided I should make one for her. It still took several attempts to get something I was pleased with, but I think  she will like this:

Battle/Challenge:  March - Idioms
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points: NA
Project Name: Chasing Rainbows
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.):
Chasing Rainbows is an English Idiom which means trying to achieve something that is not possible. I think my button rainbow hoopla illustrates this - especially with the 'hello' written by balloon string - twisted into the word 'hello' which would not be achievable with a free flying balloon. It was made for Cherie in the Craft the Rainbow swap

Although I am far from being the best beader - beading is my best craft so I thought that fit this challenge! This is a brooch I made for Cherie in the Craft the Rainbow swap

Oooo what a pretty needle book - and I LOVE the turtle!!!

I received a couple of days ago - but have been poorly and haven't uploaded pics or told my group organiser I had received - naughty girl! Sorry!

I received these adorable toy blocks with monster pics on - so I can 'make my own monsters' they're so cute!

thanks Cmarion Smiley

I received also - and am so in love with what I was sent - I envy pjr her skill as I am useless with poly clay!! Thank you so much hon!

Dragon pendant - I can not wait to make a beautiful necklace with this - I am still trying to decide whether to bead one - or use rat tail!

(his face was too cute not to be included!)

Then I also got this witch! We had agreed to send one medium and one small - so I was amazed to have two 'smalls' although I'd actually call them both medium - so much work has obviously gone into them!

Dragon - which is the reason we were partners in the first place - I saw one she'd made and asked if she would do a personal swap - then this swap started up! I could have sworn I took a photo of his side - sorry! I will try to remember to add that later!

(his little wand broke in transit - but I have the star from the top and will superglue it back on!)

60  One pattern two bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: April 27, 2014 06:11:02 AM
I made this bag for my partner in the box of colour swap. I used a pattern and followed instructions very closely (although I still ended up ripping most of it out and starting again as I attached the lining to the outer instead of doing the lining and the outer and then stitching them together. I am still very much a learner and every mistake helps me learn (or so I console myself when things go wrong!)

Then, in the Craft the Rainbow swap I used the pattern piece of the same bag for the outer and the lining, created my own handles and Velcro tab closure and put the whole thing together with no instructions! I am really pleased and proud of it and personally prefer it to the original
