31  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 34 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ratfinkz on: August 01, 2014 12:56:02 PM
I am very sorry for taking so long to post. I received a card telling me the post office had a parcel for me two weeks ago but we were going away and had no time to collect it - then this week my Grandma had a stroke - so life has been rather hectic and I have not been online! I received the most freakingly amazing ami from mama24boys! I can not tell you how much I love it. It is Elphaba from the musical Wicked - my husband and I saw it for the first time on our honeymoon and this year we went back to see it as our 'anniversary treat' it is going to become a tradition I think - because we both really love it!

thank you SO much Smiley Please don't stop swapping - I desperately need a Glinda now!!!!!!

Before I went away I also received my hobbit door from Issikahjai - which I also love, my husband looked at it and said "that could be a hobbit door" - I said "it is!" he didnt know I was such a geek pmsl! (he is a massive Lord of the Rings fan so he loves it too!)

Then today I received my second tree art print - there was a slight problem with the first one so she very very kindly offered to make me another one - how kind is that? I also love this - at our wedding we had a canvas which we had drawn a tree on - and got people to put their thumb prints on and sign it - the thumb prints were also purple - so this matches so well!)

thank you all very very much - this was a GREAT round for me! Cheesy

33  Peyote diamond bracelet in Beads: Completed Projects by Ratfinkz on: June 27, 2014 01:40:33 PM
I never spend much time making anything for myself - most things I make are for swaps or presents for people - so it has been fun spending some time lately making things for myself. I made the two starry bracelets (although I have now dismantled the first one and reused it's beads!) and then I spent a few days making this diamond peyote bracelet - which I love! It looks a bit wonky in the photo - but it is straight and flat really!

the colours are silver, purple and a bright green - didn't come out too well in the photos even after editing!

I received a beautiful charm bracelet from Avesthal, and some lovely coasters from Bec99 a few days ago - but have been too busy to upload pics - sorry guys, here they are at last!

We are going to see Wicked next weekend as a treat for our first wedding anniversary - and I plan to wear this there!

The coasters will be so useful - we were only saying a couple of weeks ago I needed to get one for my bedside table - as I have glasses full of ice to suck in bed - and condensation from them makes everything else on the table wet - so these are perfect (and I love the design of them too!)

thank you both muchly Smiley

36  Starry bracelet take 2 in Beads: Completed Projects by Ratfinkz on: June 20, 2014 02:50:30 PM
so - at the beginning of the week I created this bracelet:

I was not happy with it - so decided to play a bit more (and help improve my peyote skills) and this evening have completed this one - which I am so pleased with!

39  Handbag for my mum in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: June 17, 2014 12:17:43 PM
I am still very much a learner sewer -but my mum kind of requested a handmade handbag for her birthday - so I came up with this! There are a few mistakes - but it was the most complicated bag I have tried yet - and overall I am pleased with it.

MY mum took the photos, in reality the handle completes a circle with the bag body - but it looks floppy in the pictures - blame the photographer Wink

the main bit I am unhappy with is the interfacing showing on the lining/handle (the big white bit!) I really struggled with the lining/handle!

Sorry I have been MIA again - I've been busy/poorly/bleugh!
Last weekend we went to visit my mum! Here's Milo meeting mums new dog called Lulu - she got her from a rescue centre 4 weeks ago - and she is an amazing little dog - I totally fell in love!

then today I let him meet my doggies properly

with Tizer, our rescued Lab cross something (I love this picture!)

and with Sprite - our Springer Spaniel.

one of my main hobbies is crafting and specifically taking part in Craftster swaps - so here Milo is checking out the swag I got today from the Sweat shoppe swap:

I will try to be better at keeping in touch now! Sorry!
