12  Labradorite, wire wrapped pendent and Viking knit chain in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: February 24, 2016 06:12:55 PM
I'm going on a jewellery making course on Friday run by the lady who got me in to wire weaving, and who continues to be a massive source for my inspiration! I'm half excited and half nervous!!!! I have been making a necklace to wear and am really chuffed with it, although there's lots id change, mainly the neatness of the silver wrapping. I made the pendant and the chain its on. Hope you like!!!

13  Re: Woodland Creatures Swap 2016 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ratfinkz on: February 23, 2016 06:53:08 PM
There are some amazing goodies in this gallery! I love the tree hoops, and the apron, and the wood burning and the peyote (?) jewellery and everything else as well!

I received my parcel today and I am so chuffed with it, kitty Anne got me spot on, and I now have total swap anxiety that what I sent isn't emough or good enough!!!

So I got:

Yummy chocolate that did not want to stay around long enough to have a pic taken...

A fabulously purple fabric basket which will be put to good use collecting scrap bits of wire ready for the bin:

A painted / drawn stone that I will have to set in jewellery as a pendant:

A delicious lip balm with a top hat wearing hat:

A lovely felt/cross stitched owl key ring which will actually go on my bag I think

A beautiful reversabile bag which I adore and will get a lot of use. It's nice and small but with a cross body strap, perfect! The fact that it's purple and has a unicorn on is even more perfect. My husband said "wow that's so you". It will get a LOT of use!

And last the piece de resistance for me, a gorgeous covered notebook and pencil with hedgehog topper. I love the fact this holds a pen/pencil so they are always together, the hedgehog is adorable and the fabric is beautiful

Thank you so much Kitty, this is in my top 3 swap parcels of all time!!!!

14  A couple more rings, different to my normal style in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: January 25, 2016 04:07:50 AM
So, I've been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone lately and create things that are not my normal style. I've made myself two rings that are very different to what I make/wear, but I love them. Hope you like....

Amethyst and silver wire. This is a lot more delicate than anything I normally make or wear:

Then, I bought an absolutely stunning strand of Labradorite when I saw it I knew I had to fit as much as possible of it on a ring for myself so I could sit and stare at it all day long. This is very big and chunky, definitely a statement ring, but I adore it!

Really hope you like them Smiley

15  Labradorite ring with purple and silver wire in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Ratfinkz on: January 12, 2016 02:58:21 PM
On Saturday i am going on a wire work course. I am so excited! I made this ring to wear on the day. Pendant and bracelet will follow.

It is a Cadburys purple wire with one strand of silver. It is lighter than this pic...

But brighter than this one...

This shows it on my hand, it is definitely a big chunky one

Day  11

I love this, a terry pratchett themed cross-stitch, pillow case

I atent dead (apologies for the sideways post, but I am typing this in the dark with about two thirds of a bottle of sparkling wine onboard...

I'm so glad you like it, this is the thing that I did first and took nearly a week, when I was expecting to have it done in a day or two! Was originally going to send two as a large, but ran out of time so sent one as a medium (although it took a "large" amount of time!)

I was worried about it being so wonky but my husband who is a massive TP fan says It suits Granny Weatherwax as she is a wonky kind of character, so I am saying it was deliberate;)
