2  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / What do you do when a tree in your yard falls down? **pic heavy** on: October 17, 2008 09:32:51 AM
Make a halloween tree out of the branches, ofcourse.  Wink

During hurricane Ike we got 60+ mph winds which caused my favorite tree in the front yard to fall down  Angry  I was looking here on craftster and saw some other people making mini halloween trees which inspired me. I LOVEEEE halloween so I said, "I'm going to make a huge halloween tree, christmas tree size" So I grabbed some branches, spray painted them black, painted a clay pot, then assembled the tree. What does every tree need though? Ornaments.  Smiley So I made a few of those too, and added some cobwebs. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I might decorate it more, we'll see.

Thanks for reading and taking a look! Sorry for the massive amount of pictures! Smiley

The tree pictures aren't that great but it was the best I could get!  Smiley
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / First try with resin! Skulls! on: October 13, 2008 12:50:05 PM
So I've been wanting to try resin for a long time. I went out and bought some easycast months ago but never knew what to start off with. I was at the dollar store store one day and saw a silicone skull ice cube tray, so I thought i'd try it out with the resin.  Wink I never thought it would work but low and behold it did .   Grin They are definitely not perfect (they're full of bubbles - boo  Cry ) BUT I am so happy that the tray worked and I didnt even need to use any spray release beforehand. They popped out and didnt seem to damage the tray at all so I'll definitely be trying again. I was so excited it worked I had to post these right away!

I think i'll make them into rings, maybe.  Smiley
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Stuffed Owl :) on: August 23, 2008 08:14:02 AM
I saw this owl on some japanese (i think) fabric and thought it was super cute and thought it would make a cute stuffed animal. I basically drew up a pattern and this is what came from it. This is my first time doing something like this and I'm pretty proud of it  Wink She's made entirely out of felt. She's got some boo boo's here and there and definitely isn't perfect but I still like her  Grin

her whole body..

and a close up of her feet, which are my favorite  Cheesy

thanks for looking, comments are appreciated!

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / turning brass into silver? on: July 05, 2008 09:05:30 AM
I bought a lovely charm/pendant on etsy and it's brass color. I have no problem with it being brass but I wear silver more. I know there are products out there that turn metals into a silver color, problem is I have no idea what they're called. I was wondering if anyone has ever used a product like that, and how it worked out for them? Huh
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Tin Can Bangle Bracelet on: July 03, 2008 07:18:59 AM
Someone else on here had the lovely idea to make a bracelet out of a tin can ( I can't remember who, please post here if it's you!  Grin ) So that inspired me to try my own. Instead of doing a cuff I tried a bangle type because my hand fit very well into the can. I just cut a green bean can down to the size with tin snips my dad had, used some cotton batting, hot glue, left over fabric and fabric glue. I sewed up the edges of the fabric too so it wouldn't fray.  Wink

It's a little fatter than I wanted but I still like it. I'm not sure what I'll wear it with maybe all black, we'll see  Smiley

It's my first attempt - feedback would be appreciated!  Smiley

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / What type of Camera? on: May 20, 2008 07:12:22 AM
This may of been posted by someone else already, sorry if it was!

I was wondering for all you photographers out there what kind of cameras you use/like.

I absolutely love taking pictures and I'm thinking about making the leap and purchasing one of the better models but it's hard to figure out which one I'd want/are better without trying them.I'm sure it's personal preference.

I love my camera I have now but built in zoom isn't really working for me anymore.

Any feedback would be helpful!
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / help! i need ideas for a first bday card! on: April 03, 2008 08:04:17 AM
I need some ideas for my god daughters first birthday card. The party is on saturday  Undecided I haven't been putting it off, I've been thinking up ideas but nothing just seems good enough, yknow? At first I wanted to do a pop up card, then I wasnt sure what to put inside. I'm not sure what to write inside either. AH! I don't know. I'm making myself frustrated probably. Any ideas would be helpful though. Thanks!  Smiley
