11  Killer Pin Cushion in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by shortestkitty on: June 01, 2005 11:13:31 AM
So I got my Stitch It Kit (which I absolutely love!) and decided to embroider the coffee cup just as a practice piece on some sewing muslin. Turns out I actually liked my cup and wanted to use it for something, and so the biggest pin cushion ever was born. I made a 5x5x5 cube with embroidery on each side. Crazy? Perhaps. Practical and wicked fun to make? Definately. Thanks Ms. Hart for showing me the way! Grin Now for the cushion:

A wonky shoe (car rides on icky PA highways aren't condusive to stitching!)

Thanks for checking her out!  Grin

12  Re: Forest Friends! in The Swap Gallery by shortestkitty on: April 21, 2005 11:43:49 AM
Alrighty, I've finally gotten around to posting pictures! Here's the stuff that Dorkabrain sent me, I love it all!  Cheesy There's a stuffed bunny, and bunny pasta (which my friends and I consumed pre-picture taking... but it was super cute bright colors), a clear plastic tote w/ a super cool fabric collage w/ a deer in it, some foresty fabric w/ deer and bunnies which also appears on the reverse side of the tote, and a journal w/ a cute little fawn stamped in surrounded by scrollwork and the stamp she used. Thanks so much Dorkabrain  Grin Sorry I'm lacking a close up of the deer collage... it's so cool! I just can't seem to get the picture small enough  Cry If you have a pic to post Dorkabrain, please do! Ah well. Trust me, it's awesome.

Everything together:

The journal:

Here's also the stuff I sent to Fonduie, hope she doesn't mind me posting it! It's a reversable jordy hobo w/ deery lou applique, matching squirrel pouch and some dangly deer earrings. Woot.

And everyone's stuff is so great! This was such a fun swap  Cheesy Thanks for organizing olive + orange!  Smiley

13  Skully Scarf for BF in Knitting: Completed Projects by shortestkitty on: April 10, 2005 02:51:02 PM
So the second I told my bf that I was learning to knit (we're talking garter-stitch basics here!) he asks "Can you make me a skull scarf? With broken hearts on it???" Sure, I'll get right on it  Roll Eyes But I did it, hooray!  Smiley I actually made it for our one-year anniversary a while back. I wasn't quite finished on time, so for the actual day I wrapped up the unfinished scarf, the yarn and my needles. He took on look and said "You aren't teaching me to knit, are you?!"  Cheesy  Crazy kid.
So it's my second knitting project ever (the first being a plain rib-knt scarf) and my first intarsia project! Yay for learning. I think it came out alright. I used the stitch-in technique for the brken hearts and they didn't come out as clear as I'd hoped. Still, other than a bit of curling it's cute, and he wore it while it was still cold out  Smiley Anyway, comments/criticism welcome! Thanks for checking it out  Cheesy
