1  Hello sunshine! Cute summer sundress! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by ellasmama on: August 07, 2008 09:01:49 PM
Where I live, it's hot sticky summer until around the beginning of October, so I decided to make a little sundress for my girlie that she can wear for a few more months!  I've only made 2 dresses for her and it's been a while.  Now that I've found this pattern (Simplicity 4927), there will be many more, I'm sure.  I originally planned on adding the sleeves, but the girl insisted on going sleeveless, so I had to improvise on the bias tape - first time making my own YAY!  My daughter was so excited about it that she had to make her own little bracelet to go with it.

2  Cute Denim Stripe purse, wristlet & wallet set! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ellasmama on: July 14, 2008 03:23:46 PM
This is only my second purse & first wristlet, so go easy on me!  Wink  For the purse, I used lee's Zip Top Tote tutorial, but I did not add a zipper or any type of closure to the top.  I also modified the fabric dimensions so that it would be a smaller purse, rather than a tote.  I put in lots of pockets to hold my cell phone, lipsticks, tissues, etc.  I just love this bag and have used it every day!  I followed Javajem's tutorial for the wristlet.  My mom and I walk at the mall 3 times a week and we have needed something to carry a little bit of cash, our keys and maybe a credit card.  I made this wristlet smaller than Javajem's and it fits everything just right.  I also figure that, if necessary, I can hook my key ring to the tab on the end that was originally made to be a zipper pull.  I used the wristlet for the first time today and it is perfect for walking!   Grin  I made the wallet around Christmas time when I made several for friends, using happyfrog's slotted wallet tutorial.  Hopefully you can see it in the group shot.  I thought I had taken pics of it when I made it, but I didn't.  You can see the others I made in this post to get a close up.  I am so happy to be sewing again now that we've settled into our new home!!

3  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by ellasmama on: April 24, 2008 12:31:18 PM
Just popping in to post that pic for you, craftewoman.  We finally got moved into our new house.  It was an ordeal, let me tell you!  I'm very anxious to get back on board the poppet train!!  I've been faithfully reading this thread so I wouldn't miss out on anything and just love all the new poppets.

Here's the peasant blouse craftewoman is referring to (so adorable!):

ClonedBravo, I just love the robes and slippers!  You did a great job on a huge package!  Wow!

Hardyswanton01, what a wonderful set of supplies you put together!  Kimscozykitchen is going to have lots of fun with all that cute stuff!  Smiley

I forgot to post a pic of this beautiful bracelet that was in my package, so here it is:

And now for the moment you've all been waiting for!  Ariel is here to show off craftewoman's fabulous creations!  (Beware - tons of pictures ahead!!   Tongue)

This is the beautiful wardrobe box, containing all the goodies:

Cute hoodie, heart necklace and pink sparkle shoes:

Oops!!  Ariel might not want you to see this one, but I had to show you her pretty undies!

Ready for a hot date, in her jeans and high heels:

My personal favorite (it's so soft!), the party dress:

Let's go on a picnic:

Showing off her pretty earrings and hair clip:

Fashionable black bag:

My daughter's favorite, the beautiful ballerina.  (Ariel's trying to give craftewoman a big hug in this pic)

The detail that craftewoman put into each item is absolutely amazing.  I know that I, er my daughter, will have so much fun with all these outfits and accessories!  I need to make more poppets so they can all be dressed up at once!!  Smiley

7  Re: I love My Poppet Swap Sign-ups 1/14/08-1/25/08 Send-out 2/15/08 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by ellasmama on: January 14, 2008 08:19:33 PM
Oh, I really want to do this!!!  But, I'm afraid I'll have to wait for the next one (hoping there will be one).  I'm trying to get my house ready to sell while building a new house.  We'll be moving around the end of Feb.  It's going to be way too hectic around here for me to attempt this, though I'm tempted to just make time!  Ugh.  I guess it will be fun just watching the process since I've never swapped before.  Bummer!   Undecided

**EDIT**

Now that I have joined, here's Ariel's pic:

8  New (happyfrog) slotted wallets & my first purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ellasmama on: December 22, 2007 08:23:45 PM
Thanks to happyfrog for her wonderful pattern posted here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190408.0!  I made a total of 7 of these little wallets for friends and family for Christmas and plan to make myself one soon.  Here are some examples:

And here's my first purse.  I used Simplicity pattern #7161, Bag E.  So, this is supposed to be a Sewing Pattern for Dummies.  I guess I'm a pretty big one because half of the directions made no sense to me.  I guess it turned out ok, but I will not use the pattern again.  My purse was made with some old fabric I had and I used no interfacing since this was just a trial run.  Oh well.  My 4-yr-old will love it as a play purse.  I think I'll be trying out the Jordy next...

9  Christmas Dish Towel Apron ~ all set for baking and crafting! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by ellasmama on: November 17, 2007 09:38:54 PM
I've been itching to make my daughter an apron and it seemed like the perfect time as the Christmas baking season is almost upon us.  I found this dish towel at the dollar store.  The embroidery was already there (thus the slightly crooked lettering), along with the pom-poms.  I cut about 3 inches off the top of the towel, which became the 3-pocket pouch where she can keep all of her tools and supplies.  I think I'll be making more of these as gifts for her little friends.  It was so easy!!

Edited because I forgot to mention that I followed  this basic idea, but obviously "made it my own"!  Wink

Pockets:

Button to attach the ribbon around her neck, with room to grow (I'm as pleased as punch with my new machine that does automatic button holes ~ this was my first attempt using that function!):

10  Introducing my Poppet, "Ariel" in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ellasmama on: October 31, 2007 07:11:53 PM
She is dressed and ready to go for Halloween.  At first she was going to be a dancer from Flashdance, but then she started to channel Jane Fonda's workout videos!  Long live the 80s!!   Grin

Thanks again to ghilie for a marvelous doll pattern.  Everyone who has seen her just loves her, especially my daughter, who hasn't stopped hugging her.  Forgive all the images...Ariel is such a dancing queen, she had to show off all her moves!  Wink
