Great Bag.... Did you use a tutorial or pattern?

I made my own pattern, but this bag gave me the idea. You can get a similar result by using this tutorial:

The medicine bag I made my own pattern.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments  Smiley
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Travel in style! on: November 14, 2008 04:41:02 PM
In preparation for me and hubby's anniversary trip to San Francisco I wanted to make a fun bag to take on the trip. Not only that but the wonderful airline charges per checked bag, so I'm protesting and made a carry-on-friendly bag to carry all my goods. I was inspired by Logsio's travel bag, but I made mine bigger (maximum carry on size of 22x14x9), added more features too like outer zipper pockets and what not.

It took me forever to make, but it is a labor of love. Oh yeah, I also made a matching toiletry case. It's a good size too (8x6x5). Thanks for looking.  Cheesy

Look at all the towels I could stuff in my bag!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: So Fresh afghan!! aka The Never-Ending Afghan of Doom on: October 07, 2008 03:08:28 PM
LOVE IT!!
I just learned how to crochet and just started a nice afghan. I didn't realize how LONG it takes to do! I have been working on it for a couple weeks and am not even halfway done!

Well great job on finishing it! Right in time for chilly weather  Smiley
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Another diaper bag-I'm keeping this one for myself! heehee on: August 11, 2008 12:01:31 PM
So I made a pattern loosely based on the amy butler weekender which I love so much. It's much smaller though and is just...different. I just turned it inside out so all the timtex is still all funky making it look lopsided. Also the inside features some pockets, a zippered compartment, and a key lanyard. It's also not as neon orangey as the picture shows (can't figure out my new camera).
I figure once my baby outgrows his diaper bag he can use it as a cool overnight bag when he's spending the night at grandma's or a friend.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

Thanks for all your nice compliments!  Smiley

It is interfaced with just regular fusible fleece. Even the pockets have the fleece. I never heard of the insulation but will look for it. That sounds neat!

It is not my design. You can buy the pattern here (or probably at your local quilt shop):
www.quiltsillustrated.com

However this bag is SOOOO super easy to make. With a little knowledge of how bags are made you could easily look at it and see how it's made.
