231  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Using multiple needles on: November 27, 2007 09:56:38 PM
Please can anyone help. I have read that it is quicker to thread up multiple needles with various colours when doing cross stitch and just work along in rows. I have always worked one colour at a time, and just can't work out a way to actually organise all those needles at once, without getting into hopeless knots. Any advice, please?

They are lovely! How did you do the little girls on the denim bag? Are they embroidered or was it printed fabric? They are so cute!

Thanks so much for the owl AND for the rabbit queen- they both appeal to me muchly! Now if I could just tear myself away from this computer and actually get on with some stitching.........

Wow, thank you for those lovely patterns- I found the Spring one on a different thread on craftster, and finally linked back to you! My son loves all things Japanese, and I have almost finished the Spring one, but now he wants them all, with of course, the Kanji included. I will make cushions out of them for him. Anybody else have lovely Japanese patterns? Or Dragon patterns for the other son?
235  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Floppy Hat - Tutorial on: November 05, 2007 09:42:31 PM
Hi, Sugabeats, I have just found your floppy hat post today, and it is just what I am looking for! Did you ever post a pattern/tutorial for that hat?  I would love to make one like it. Or otherwise an explanation on how you designed your own pattern? I am so hopeless when it comes to these things!

Beautiful colours, Bushbaby! And what a great idea to actually have a special block on the back as a label! (Even if it is a 'reject' block!) I'm going to have to shelve my block making, as I am going on holiday until the end of October, but when I get back, I am going to look at everyone's blocks and be totally inspired! I think I'll have to do just one from each month to catch up with all of you!

Darn, I am so annoyed, I only found this now, in October!!! I actually only discovered 'Craftster' in August, so now I'm finding all the stuff I've missed out on. I will have to wait for new craftalongs to start to join in. Lovely bags, by the way, all you people!

Yes a border sounds a better plan than scrapping the whole block!
239  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: "What do YOU Journal About?!" Ideas thread! on: October 05, 2007 11:32:45 PM
I have noticed that lots of people use the 'Dover Books' site for embroidery patterns- they are a great source for visual journals too- they send you free samples that you can print out and use! I love them!
I choose a picture that appeals to me for whatever reason on that particular day, and then sometimes I write about it, or sometimes I choose a colouring in picture and colour it, paint it, modify it- whatever. It is a lot of fun!
240  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Craft market sellers-HELP! please! on: October 05, 2007 11:25:27 PM
Yes, yes, thank you for those great ideas. I tend to like the quick things, too- it is a 'quick fix' to sell lots of little things, even though you don't make as much money on each item. So far I have made some embroidered hand towels and face cloths, just with a little motif on each. Haven't even started working on everyone's great ideas yet!
