It turned out beautiful! I have that book too ... I was just looking through it yesterday and thinking about starting a Lone Star quilt. I hope mine turns out as awesome as yours does.

I'm a hand quilter too! That's how I originally learned, but now I am learning more how to use a sewing machine. It's pretty stressful though, since I feel like I can't be in control as much as I'd like.

In all, I've made two large quilts by hand - a grandmother's flower garden and a seven sisters quilt - and quite a few baby quilts/wall hangings. I've been sewing about 10 years though.

I love them! And your swap idea sounds like a lot of fun. I am currently making animals from gloves, and I love what you did with the stripes. I'll have to try socks next. So cute.
