1  for those of us a little too obsessed with celebrity crushes.. in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by sleep in gutters on: December 17, 2007 02:47:45 PM
so i made these for my two friends for Christmas, i like them and i don't like them, they're kinda creepy but cute. This was my first time ever making plushies, and i really want to try to make more, but different from these.

Anyway, felt, buttons, polyfil, and this awesome paper i found at JoAnns where you print on it then when you peel off the back its fabric to sew with. Here they are laying down, but they can stand up too.

Danny Jones, a member of McFly, who is from Britain

Michael Buble, of Canada. His face looks distorted in the first one but it isn't, its jsut how it was lying on my bed. sorry for the poor image quality too.

what do you think? comments/criticisms?  Smiley i'll definitely be making plush toys again, but very differently.

3  lots of polka dotsedit, pics of it on =) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sleep in gutters on: November 09, 2007 01:57:30 PM
i have a bunch of white shirts, because they're cheap & you can do so much with them, so i decided to do something different with this one, with black&white polka dot fabric and red&white polka dot fabric:

dinosaur applique with a heart:

and then red-polka dot panels down the sides:

(i cut it jagged like that on purpose, i like how it looks)
and all together:

its not laying strait, so it looks wrinkled, but i can try to get a picutre of it on.
what do you guys think?

4  i don't really show school spirit... in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sleep in gutters on: October 28, 2007 04:35:42 PM
...so i reconstructed a sweatshirt from my high school!
i forgot before pictures! sorry  Sad i was just excited to start. it used to be really big, but i loved the color (it was actually dyed from when it was my brothers), and it had "Gateway Gators" embroidered on the left chest side, which i didn't like, so i did this:

(excuse the fact that its a mirror pic)

close of up the fabric:

i cut of the sleeves, took them and the body of the sweatshirt in, then sewed the diagonal stripe over the symbol with a tight zigzag. its so comfy and i really like it =)
its kind of looks like its not on straight but it actually is, its just the way i'm standing.

5  Re: Show Off Your Hair! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by sleep in gutters on: October 21, 2007 11:19:45 AM
first of all, i love this thread, and everyon'e hair.
i've never wanted to dye my whole head just ebcause i actually like my natural color and i'll only dye my hair funky colors.
i can't find a picture of my hair in 9th grade, but it was basically shoulder length with the underneath bright red (which was supposed to be a fuscia-ish color, either the box lied or my ahir is just weird), but hopefully i'll find a pic & post it later.
then last year when i was sick of the red, 10th grade, i cut my hair short, a little above my chin (but not a bob), and since my hair grows fast this is what it looked like a month later in october
(i'm in the middle)
and to show the layers:

i didn't cut it since then so it got long, and over the summer i put some purple streaks in (but it came out fast & didn't show too well since my hairs dark, i want to try again though, i guess i'll have to bleach it)

my hair is still the same now just without the purple,
but like i said i think i want to try that again,. and i've also been thinking about getting a choppy short cut again, but i'm not sure

7  yo-yos! in Completed Projects by sleep in gutters on: October 16, 2007 04:56:11 PM

(sorry if these are in the wrong section, i wasn' sure)
Smiley yo-yos are awesome to make, and i wanted to be doing something instead of just sitting and watching tv (because i really wanted to relax, but i hate not being productive)
so i made these, & i'll be making many more because i have so many scraps of fabric. i'll probably make colars and sew then on or maybe just onto shirts anywhere; any other suggestions for these?

(Also, in my creative sewnig class we're making little pumpkins out of a stack of different colored orange fabric yo-yos, supe cute for holloween, i'll post it when i finish & get it back from being graded. also, for christmas you can make little trees by stacking yo-yos that get smaller and smaller.)

8  bomber stencil! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by sleep in gutters on: September 16, 2007 06:24:03 PM
This is only my second stencil ever, and I already am in love with freezer paper, i will definitely stencil more soon, once i have the time. Also, I don't really like what I did the first time i stenciled, but I wanted to post this one now because I'm proud of it  Grin

For the bomb that says "NO", I got that from a picture of street art, sorry i don't have the link for it. My stepdad helped with drawing the bomber plane, & that was tedious to cut out. It bled a little bit around the nose of the plane, but that part ends up like in my armpit anyway so you can't notice when its on (I'll try and add a picture of me wearing it soon if I can).

what do you think?
