1  Roll-Up Pencil Cases in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Peekay on: September 06, 2007 11:48:54 PM
First ever Craftster completed project post!  WOOT!

I made these three cases for my nieces and nephew in honour of back to school.

I found the idea and general instructions HERE, and then went on to modify.

Each of the three is a bit different.  The one for my 4 year old nephew has velcro closure.  I thought the button would be a bit tough for him. His is also the only one where I closed the tubes on the bottom edge.

There were a few hitches.  My first go at the purple one, I got a little obsessed with making the tubes so tight and close together that in the end, the pencils wouldn't roll.. it was stiff as a board.  Oops.

In the end, I'm very happy with the product.

Here they are:

Oooh! Pretty matching buttons!

And a closer look at the tubes.

Thanks for looking!  Any comments, suggestions are appreciated.
