1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Opinions on dress forms on: May 24, 2006 08:56:25 AM
hey there.  I am looking at buying a dress form from Joann Fabrics.  I was either going to buy the Dritz or the Singer.  I was wondering if any of you have used dress forms and what kinds are the best to use.  Im worried that the clothing won't fit right or the it will have too high of a bust or something.  It is hard to sew on yourself though and a dress form woudl make it easier to sell my own stuff. Any info you could tell me about would be great.
thanks so much!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I need some techniques for turning straps right side out. on: May 06, 2006 07:01:45 PM
Im almost finished with this dress that i love.  The only problem is the straps.  im having problems after I sew them trying to pull them out so the right side is out.  I am having this problem because the strap has blue fabric with a lace overlay to go with the rest of the dress.   So it feels really bulky.  If anyone has any ideas on how to help me I would really appreciate it!!!! Thanks all you wonderful crafters.  You have helped me on many an occasion!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Anyone knitting the knitty Leo sweater??? on: October 12, 2005 03:31:05 PM
Ok so I just foud out recently that my husband is being shipped to iraq.  Well I am in the process of knitting the leo sweater off the knitty website. Im pretty sure its oging to take me forever because its knitted with really skinny yarn on number 3 circular needles.  Has anyone ever knitted this sweater before>  I would like to get it done my CHristmas.. not like he'll need it in IRaq but Id like him to have it before he goes.  So.. basically the pattern looks funny and nothing like the picture.. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
thanks all.

I want to decorate it Indian or Nepalese style, but not get tacky with it.  Does anybody have any cheap ideas to make indian looking stuff?  I have a table top i want to redo i wanted to stencil our shelves we have but i wasn't sure where to get a design.  Ive been looking for a while...no luck.  any ideas would be super helpful.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help!! with stockinette stitch on: November 10, 2004 12:18:37 PM
I am working on a scarf i am making for my hubby for christmas.  I used the stockinette stitch because he likes "flat" stitches if that makes sense.  But my problem is I am done with it, but it is rolling up.  Is there anything i can go to stop this?  I am so frusterated and now that I am done with it I don't want to tear it all out and start all over :-( Any ideas???

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Book Bindings on: September 18, 2004 09:07:44 AM
I am working on making a book for my husband.  I want to figure out a way to bind it so it looks cool.  Its just made out of cardstock with photos and such on it.  I had seen a book on here once with the poloraid transfers and really really liked it, but im not sure how that was held together.  I have done a few before, but they all turned out kind of crappybecause of the binding part. I am pretty new to this forum any tips you guys have would be super helpful!!! thanks!
