1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Passport Cover on: May 20, 2008 05:22:21 PM
I made this passport cover for my mom for her birthday.

I got the idea from this GREAT tutorial. http://sewbunnybum.blogspot.com/2008/04/passport-sleeve-tutorial.html
The directions were so easy to follow and I was done in about 10 minutes!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Beans' Bear Dress on: April 04, 2008 02:29:04 PM
I have been wanting to make a dress for my dog, Beans for a long time and I finally gathered up enough courage to do it. I modified Simplicity's 4325 pattern for small dog clothes and came up with this:

I made my own ruffles out of some scrap fabric I had instead of using lace, and I didn't put any embellishment on the neckline. I got rid of the sheer overskirt and I added a sash around the waist (this was mostly to hide some wonky seams, but it works!).

Here is Beans in her dress:

And a closeup of the sash:
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Arrested Development Pillowcase on: February 22, 2008 02:54:25 PM

Embroidered pillowcase inspired by Buster from Arrested Development. Made for my friend Tom. Sorry about the terrible pictures, but it was dark for about a week when I took them!

Here's a detail:

It was all done with a split stitch.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Camera Case on: February 22, 2008 02:47:36 PM

This is a simple camera case I made without a pattern. I just crocheted a row as long as the short side of my camera, then crocheted into the row in the round until my camera fit inside! For the flap I just crocheted back and forth, stitching two together on each side (I *think*, it was a while ago).
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fabric Covered Floss Bobbins and Nutty Pin Cushion on: November 29, 2007 12:08:38 PM
Yet another addition to the pile of stuff for my Fall Swap partner.

I found a tutorial for the bobbins here: http://thesmallobject.com/stenopad/wordpress/?p=776

Which in turn led me here: http://labelleavenue.com/blog/?p=7  where I saw the cutest little pin cushion!

6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Hand Carved Fall Leaf Stamps on: November 29, 2007 11:59:18 AM
I got the idea from a Japanese craft book. You can use each separately, or together for a different look! Sorry the stamping was a bit crooked, I was in a hurry!

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fall Theme Fabric Buttons on: November 29, 2007 11:56:03 AM
These are for a swap partner for a Fall Swap I participated in. I used some Japanese fabric from my stash. I also carved the leaf stamps on the envelope!

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Acorn Fairy Hanging Pillow (Pic Heavy) on: November 29, 2007 11:53:13 AM
I recently made this hanging pillow type thing for a swap partner. I used one of Hillary Lang's stitchette patterns on linen.

The hanging strap is made from some organic cotton twill tape stamped with some rubber stamps I carved.

I am absolutely in love with how it turned out, but a little sad that I have to send it away!
Here are some close ups of the embroidery:

I thought the sparkly embroidery floss would look cute in the wings, but it was less cute than I thought it would be, plus I HATED working with it. Blah. I will not be using it again, If I can help it!

9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi Totoro on: November 05, 2007 04:03:07 PM
I made this for my Totoro-loving boyfriend for our anniversary last Saturday. It took me a long time to make, since he is always around and I wanted to keep it a secret. I spent the night before our anniversary locked in the bathroom pretending to have "stomach problems" so I could put on the finishing touches!

I got the pattern for free: http://heavens-hellcat.livejournal.com/420.html.

EDIT: Yes, I used Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Lake and Snow, some brown Lily's Cream & Sugar for the nose and claws, 9mm safety eyes and a size F crochet hook. Cotton Ease is just so darn easy to work with (hence the "Ease" I guess).
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Wispy Amigurumi Bear on: November 05, 2007 11:28:23 AM
I made this little bear for a swap. I hope my partner likes him!
