11  Kitty Reading Hand-Carved Rubber Stamp in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by breaksville on: October 22, 2007 04:30:36 PM

Well, I wasn't sure which catergory this would go in, so I guess it goes here! This isn't the first stamp I've carved, but it is the first I tried out of a book of designs, Keshigomu Hanko Chiisana Ehon (Small Picturebook of Rubber Stamps), that I bought from Yesasia.com

I really recommend it. There's tons of designs and ideas for how to use them!

12  Teddy Bear Rug #2 - Polar Bear in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by breaksville on: October 11, 2007 03:19:36 PM
I made another one of these a while ago and finally got around to posting the "new version." This one is polar bear flavored.

I played around with the pattern a bit, adjusting where I had gone wrong before. I still think the pattern needs some work, but this guy is cute!

I also used felt cutouts for claws this time, rather than the vinyl ones. I like it this way MUCH better:

Cute fish pattern I found on needlecrafter.com

This is me trying out a new stitch (stem stitch?)

14  Amigurumi Bear With Dress in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by breaksville on: October 04, 2007 10:31:06 AM
Another ami-bear! This one has a dress and a drawstring bag that is slightly too long for her. (I need to start measuring rather than just cutting out a rectangle of fabric!)

Her dress has little flower-shaped shell buttons sewn on for decoration. The dress is a bit big for her, but it turned out ok when I gathered it more at the neck.

15  Pig and House Embroidery in Needlework: Completed Projects by breaksville on: October 03, 2007 10:00:59 AM
These were just a couple of doodles I did on my notepad during a staff meeting. I ran out of supplies for some other projects I was working on, so I decided to stitch them up last night!

16  Amigurumi Bear With Hearts in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by breaksville on: September 26, 2007 05:23:38 PM
I've been working on this bear for a while now (other projects kept popping up) and I am really pleased with the results.

I stitched together two different trims to make her apron/skirt. And I looked EVERYWHERE for the right buttons and finally found them in an ebay store. I guess crafting is a little easier when you don't have a specific idea in mind... The bow on her ear was a random trimming I found at Joann's.

I also made her a bag to keep out the dust:

The poofy heart was actually an accident. I was planning on stitching on a flat felt applique, but as I sewed it started to curve up (I was watching TV and not paying enough attention to what I was doing). So I went ahead and tried stuffing it with ployfill. This evened out the curves nicely!

17  Amigurumi Dog with Cushion - pic heavy in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by breaksville on: September 21, 2007 09:39:10 AM
I made this for my mother's coworker. She wanted an ami-dog that looked like her actual real-life dog. I apologize for the dark pics, my camera pretty much does what it wants these days! I am fairly pleased with the results, although it ended up a little lopsided. I just made a cushion and sewed it to that. Now she sits up straight!

All packaged up and ready to go:

18  Embroidered Dachs in Needlework: Completed Projects by breaksville on: September 19, 2007 04:08:52 PM
This is made from a Clover embroidery pattern I bought (at Joann's!). I thought it was really cute, and it ended up being pretty easy, too. This is my first real stab at embroidery.

19  Teddy Bear Rug in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by breaksville on: September 19, 2007 11:32:38 AM
I decided to make this one after my boyfriend requested a tiny bear rug. I drafted the pattern, but it didn't really turn out how I was expecting. At least now I know what I need to tweak!

I was originally going to make little felt cutouts to use as claws, but when I showed him the little vinyl ones I had as a backup, he insisted I use the "sharp" ones.

It now lives on top of his computer!
