He's really great. I don't know the character (yet  Grin  I'm going to have to look into the book.) The stuffie looks so good and I love getting book recommendations for the short people that also appeal to grownups.

They are great I love the way you did both of their eyes.  Very cool.

Okay! I just sent the pdf of the gnome pattern to Mloopy!  Whoot!

Yeah Garden Gnomes soon to come!!  Grin

Please feel free to PM me with your email if your interested in the pdf and I'll send it to you.

These are just the pattern pieces, if you don't have the original instructions from Ghilie you'll need those to. All I did was play with the scale of her pattern.

Another vote for banning real lives that interfere with crafting.

Herman's modification will be available soon. Crafty Canadian has offered to fix up my tracings for me. (I love this place, everyone is fantastic) Once he's ready anyone who wants can PM me for those changes.

Meanwhile I've been slowly working on dressing him.  The clothes are definitely the hardest part for me (I've only ever made pj bottoms before poppeting.)  And why does real life have to be so time consuming?

Lovely poppet, she's so sweet.  The fabric for her dress is gorgeous.

Oh and FairyWings, Ghilie's instruction are great and the poppet really is very easy if you go slow and careful. My poppet was my first doll too.

She's wonderful. I love her outfit and her braids.

Papa Smurf would be fantastic.  Especially since he wears less clothing, and I find the clothing to be the hardest part.

Ambo, I would be glad to share my thoughts on how I adjusted the pattern or to try and copy my changed pieces (which are a little rough) depending on whats wanted/needed.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on Herman.  It was fun playing with the pattern to get his shape right.

Eliea, I did weft his hair and beard just like for the girl poppets, just much shorter, and a lot more forehead.  Grin  The mustache is similar but only sewn down the middle not sewn folded over, then just attached along the sewing line.  I hope that makes sense.

I love all the amazing poppets everyone is making.  I wanted to share the poppet variation that I've been slowly working on.  While all of you have been perfecting the "booby poppet" I have been trying to tweak the pattern for a garden gnome type shape.

Meet Herman...

And a couple before his hair so you can see his shape better, and compared to the original poppet.

Hopefully I can get him outfitted soon so he can have his own thread.
Herman says, "there be some dem fine gels about and I'm not fond of prancin' round in me skivvies." (shh don't anyone tell him about the naked ones.)
