21  Felt Grocery Store Set in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MommyTheMaid on: May 23, 2010 11:34:40 PM
I bought the pattern from BuggaBugs on Etsy a LOOOONG time ago and just got around to finishing the set at 2 in the morning last night.  Just in time for my DD's b-day celebration today.  I think it was just a little more work than I wanted to put into it.  I didn't use all the interfacing the pattern suggests and I wish I would have.  It's a little floppy.  I also didn't make the handles from felt as I was feeling lazy and I really hate turning felt.  I used pipe cleaners and I like the sturdyness of them but I might go back and cover them with felt.

All in all I am really happy that I finished it and it is really cute.

Sorry to be late posting pics.  No excuses, I just suck like that.

On a brighter note, check out the loot!

Hubby asked me to present this pic as "check out my cans"   Roll Eyes

all of the awesome goodies:

one of my favorite items. I REALLY needed new thumbtacks for my cork board and am not a fan of those plain old office looking ones he he so I got a little jar FULL of the fun ones and the jar has one of my favorite turtle fabrics ever

I asked my daughter what her favorite item was and she picked up the knit scrubbie (in perfect colors to match my kitchen) then I said "are you sure, you have to clean with that." and she picked up these instead...hehe

I think we have one or two more snow storms to get through (hopefully no freezes though) so I plan to use those little planters (oregano and basil) as starters and then move them outside in the summer Cheesy

Thank you imafundork!!  I love it all.  Cheesy

OGD and I agreed on a few extras, and wow!  She sent me so much and it was all so well done and so tailored to my tastes.

Opening:

is that not drool worthy in itself?

opening the parcel for the poppets (it was so cutely labeled!)

inside:

in action on three of our poppets:

a belt for my 11 year old.  It's perfect for her:

fabric:

very awesome book from my wists and notions:

really awesome messenger bag with a drink packet holder (cause she saw I liked the one here) filled with energy drink powders and a matching key fob

inside with lots of pockets:

wool longies for my son from reclaimed sweaters:

opening up her package:

to find the cutest t-shirt and awesome outfit!

the leggings and top of the shirt are from a sweater too I think.  How cool!!

I will post action shots of the kiddos when they wear their goodies.  Athena wore her t-shirt today but the camera was charging.

I cannot say thank you enough OGD.  Everything is amazing and you pegged my style and my wants so well.  Thank you!!!

26  SteamPunk-a-saurus Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MommyTheMaid on: March 22, 2010 02:15:33 PM
I made this in the Dino Swap for SailorBonkGirl and have been SO excited to post it!

I made her goggles from poly clay after messing around with water bottle lids and almost loosing a finger with the utility knife. Roll Eyes

Close up of her waist belt/corset thing:

I did her hair with Soy Wool Stripes and LOVE how it came out.  Here is a back shot so you can see the hair and her plates that go down her back.

I had a blast making her and I know her new owner loves her very much.  Comments and constructive input always welcome.  Thanks for looking!

I made her 3 glycerin soaps with plastic dinos, a pterodactyl knitted cloth, and an appliqued towel.  There is also a fun little glitter dino project I found.

Wow!  Bruce is awesome.

This was supposed to be the bat poppet, but the more I looked at her, the less she was a bat to me.  The fabric I used was LAME and her seams are all popping a bit.  But she likes herself just how she is.

Here is Cornelia:

I also made her clothes myself this time.  It was a very interesting experience.  One that I need to do a lot more before I will really get the hang of it Wink

29  Re: craftalong to, post a project on every completed projects board in craftster in Craftalongs by MommyTheMaid on: February 20, 2010 12:51:28 PM
I finally got pictures of my item for the knitting board.  I was going to post the Dr Who scarf once I get fringe on it, but that is all garter stitch and wanted to finish this one for the task since it was much more challenging for me.

30  Pembroke Sweater Vest for a little man in Knitting: Completed Projects by MommyTheMaid on: February 20, 2010 12:47:31 PM
This was my first work with more intricate cables.  There are lots of mistakes, but I love it. I am very proud of myself. I just wish my son liked it too.  LOL

Mommy!  Take it off of me!

You can check out my blog to find where I got the pattern from.  I can't find the link right now and am being lazy hehe
