21  Deskbots - Robot Desk Organizers in Needlework: Completed Projects by teriyakimoto on: November 18, 2007 05:09:10 PM
OK.  Not sure where these projects go, but it does involve some needlepoint.  I made two of these.  One for a swap and one for a friend's b-day.  I got the idea from Anti-Craft, but used my own measurements and grids.

Fred (my buddy named him) in his new habitat:

the head opens up for storage too:

Thanks for looking!

22  Harry Potter House wear plus Robot Love wristwarmers in Knitting: Completed Projects by teriyakimoto on: November 16, 2007 02:34:09 PM

Thought I'd share some stuff I made for various swaps.  First, I made a Slytherin hat (based on the kittyville hat in SnB) and wristwarmers (based off Voodoo from Knitty) for an HP swap.

THEN I made these shorter wristwarmers for a robot-lovin swap partner:

All were made using acrylic yarn as one partner was a vegan and I had no money for fancy yarn at the time.  Hope you guys like 'em!

I'm going to be this guy:
Mahna mahna!
Purple makeup, big yellow-framed sunglasses, pink clown nose.  Anyone know of a quick, easy vest or tunic pattern?  I bought this green fur at Joanne's, I got a yard which should be more than enough.  I also don't know how to do that beard...  would it look bad if I just painted an orange beard on my face?

A couple years ago I was Steve Zissou and I went the cheap/easy route.  FELT!  I made a cheesy beard out of it and attached it to the beanie.  The beard in action:

This method isn't very realistic, it's more cartoony.  But, I find this look is more entertaining.  You could probably connect your beard to your wig.  Of course, felt might not be furry enough for your costume, but you could use furry fabric.

29  I heart zombies - needlepoint box [pic heavy] in Needlework: Completed Projects by teriyakimoto on: September 26, 2007 07:07:27 PM
I made this for the Zombies are Love swap.  It's my first needlepoint project.  I didn't realize it would take so long!  Three sides of the box are needlepoint and the 4th side is made of felt.  I lined the box w/ felt as well.
