11  Re: Travelers Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by PetitMer on: February 23, 2008 07:53:22 AM
Okee, I finally worked out my problems with the photo uploader thing (could this mean a happy stream of new posts perhaps?) and can finally post the fabu goodies I received from Psyche! She made a whole set of pretty drawstring bags that are good for just about everything from delicates to makeup, and a cute  little store bought one with a pretty teahouse theme. Here's the lot:

Theres a roll for my paintbrushes (although it is kind of perfect for my crotchet hooks too), an awesome vintagy cowboy travel candle (totally go through those!) and some candies that are hard to get around here.
Closed brush Roll:

And a closeup of the candle and chocolates:

At first I was super excited about the crunchie, because I always bring a big box of them home from the UK, but then the boy and I shared the coffee crisp. Looks like we have a new winner!
Thank you so much Psyche! Everything is super mega fabutastic!!! Grin Grin Grin

12  One Seam Tote Pillow in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by PetitMer on: February 16, 2008 07:39:46 AM
My husband LOVES to read and browse used bookstores, so when we moved down the street from The Strand, I decided to make something for our house! I took one of their tote bags:

Snipped the straps and saved them for later, shoved a pillow inside (14" square I think)
and did a blind stitch on top.

I slapped some buttons on there and threw it on the couch! Viola!

It's had lots of use and is a little wrinkly, but comes back to life for company with a quick steam. I tried keeping the straps on and tucking them inside just incase I wanted to take it apart in the future and use it as a tote again, but it was too lumpy  Tongue I guess I have enough totes anyway!  Wink
