Hey guys!



I was wondering if any of foxy crafters you have advise for a freaked out beader needing to reorganize.
I currently have all of my beading and jewelry making supplies and equipment in my art studio which I have to shut down within the next few weeks (thanks bloody recession).  I'm moving my whole operation home and don't have a lot of room to put it all.   

In the studio I have shelves with various boxes and organizers sitting on them, but at home it will have to go into a closet.  I've tried the shelves in the closet thing before and have trouble keeping it tidy, SO. I've been looking into some of those multi organizer totes that have straps or wheels, that hold tools and organizing boxes.  Something I could bring out when I'm working, ya know?

Anyone have any experience with things like this?

Or maybe a better idea? I'm good at cleaning up, but I don't have a dedicated space in the house for crafting. It's my kitchen table.  Hopefully I'll be moving into a new studio in the not too distant future, but I need a good solution! AAAARG!!!! Moving and reorganizing is stressful.

HELLO MUG SWAPPERS! Come on back and check out Bablina's Long lost package!~ HOORAY!!!!!!
I opened this INCREDIBLY heavy box, and things just kept pouring out...
I'll start with the lot as it came out (with one minor exception, I'll explain later)

The mug is a tea for one set that I've been using ever since (and right now for that matter!)
and it looks like the colors inspired her to paint a tea box, coaster and tray to match!
There's also a little tea bag cozy (which my gameboy is now inside of) and a little tea spoon

Next up are some jar projects, loose tea, a cinnamon apple candle and some homemade? preserves!
I don't know what kind they are yet.. they're vacuum sealed!

There is soooo much tea and hot cocoa and cider and sweets and chocolates and peppermints
and I had trouble getting pictures of the special towel cozies she made, but very pretty!

Hey there, just wanted to share a few photos from election night here in NYC.

I'm no photographer, I prefer to paint and tend to lean toward expressionism, but the activity and sincerity of the crowd inspired me to take some shots sans flash to capture the electricity and excitement of the event. Heres what happened:

I was just getting ready for bed after the new president had been announced, when we heard the commotion coming from the street. People were cheering and cars were honking. We went outside to have a look and I couldn't believe what was going on out there! The streets were mobbed with people! High fives were dolled out amongst strangers, people leaned out of their windows banging on pots and pans and cars were honking WITH the street-blocking crowd. We made our way to Union Square which was so packed with people that there were even crowd surfers!

It felt like New Years Eve!
It was like everyone had just won the super bowl!

If you happened to be here during 9/11, you might remember the sad sense of togetherness that occurred during the days and weeks that followed. I've been here my whole life and never saw New Yorkers ban together like they did during that tragedy - until last night. It was amazing and truly moving to see everyone together like that with such positive energy!

I'm not sure that these photos really capture the intensity of the evening, but it was really special to me and I wanted to share it with you all! Hope you enjoy:

teasy teasy teasy!

So this is a sweatshirt someone asked me to make for her daughter, it was for her birthday and her name is Dahlia, so she wanted a hoodie that said her name and was covered with Dahlias! I was a little worried that the flowers weren't close enough to the real thing (don't they kind of almost look like zinnias maybe?? ) but hey, she was happy with them and I think it's kinda neat, so no need to start floggin myself... yet. We did a soft pink tie dye on the sweatshirt first and then I got to work. There's so much paint on this thing it's almost absurd, thank goodness the fabric didn't get hard! This fleece is thirsty...











I don't usually do this kind of work - my airbrushing is usually a little more loose and wild,  (totally anti venice beach style - silhouettes of waves and hearts with your sweat hearts name & date make me  ANGRY!!!!!) so I tend to go with more of a graffiti inspiration. I put in some squiggly bits in the background for more depth, but I dunno, not sure if it really helped at all, I think I could have left it off. My mom saw it and asked me to do one for her too so I guess going to have to experiment in making it more grown up? Anyhoos, let me know what you think!

Okay, so it's been kind of a rough week, and I totally spaced on a few other pieces from my package! Along with all the other market goodness, Oneredboot also sent some basil seeds with starter containers! I tried to take pictures with the computer (didn't work) but I guess I left them across the room when I took the other pictures with my camera D'OH! Without further ado, the final pieces of Oneredboot's lovely package:

So first, here's the family portrait:


First there's this great book about little potted gardens which is EXACTLY what I need for my itty bitty apartment! Also a farmers almanac which is pretty funny, and full of all sorts of crazy information. There's a note too, on a postcard from Switzerland!


Here's a matching gardening hat and little all purpose pouch purse - I love the lining and I'm not sure if the hat was meant to be reversible, but guess what, it totally is! I tend to shy away from the sun and well, frankly I'm a hat person, so this one is totally going into action this summer! Also the little purse has a very pretty pearly snap closure. It's a gorgeous little detail:


And finally, the way cool shopping tote made from a reclaimed whole foods sign. It's crazy durable and I love the text and color! >contented sigh< I just love bags so much!

Hioya! This is my first post in this section! So everything looks so tasty here, and then I saw this little cake instructable - http://www.instructables.com/id/1UP-Cakes/ and just had to make some over the weekend. I just used cake mix and frosting in a tub, but the little white choclate pastilles really made it work. I went ahead and did the power up and life shrooms too. Enjoy!






mmmm... sweeeet...

Heres a little number I did in anticipation for summertime (when will it stop being cold?!?!?!) The roller coaster fabric made me smile and reminds me of loopy outside days

I finally figured out the photo up loader and this is my first post in this section. Bags are just about my favorite things to make and so I thought I'd share a few of my most loved totes here!

Here's a medium sized weekend number:

It's a tweed upholstery fabric and bright OJ poplin lining. The buttons are fabric covered with the same oj lining.
Heres a weird bird's eye view of the lining:


This one is a smaller brown upholestery houndstooth with this crazy pink burlap. The burlap was a nightmare to work with (never gonna happen again!) and I had to add the button to fudge a weird gather that happened with the two fabrics. I actually kind of dig the button side more than the flower applique side!
