1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / 2008 - How'd they like the gifts? on: December 22, 2008 07:10:24 AM
I always love getting reactions from people who recieve my gifts. So post what you made, and there responses Cheesy

For my girlfriends - I made cheetah and zebra mittens. They all loved them! A lot of them wore them around the day I gave them to them, in class, and I only got great responses! I ended up making 10 pairs of mittens, and than just giving others cookies, and all of it was super time consuming. I'm really happy they completely loved them!

I'll be editing with more in a few days Smiley
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Craftsters Guide to Crafting for Men on: October 13, 2008 05:50:43 AM
Men are most definatley the hardest people to craft for, no doubt about it! So why don't we share our ideas here. Things we've made in the past, planning to make, or just though of! Whether they be fathers, husbands, brothers, nephews, whatever! Post it!

Brothers: Homemade boxers, if you can sew! Buy a pattern, and some fabric/notions, your ready to go.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Christmas Party on: October 12, 2008 02:48:38 PM
This year, I'm going to try and persuade my parents to let me have a christmas party with about 13 girls. Just from like 5 - 11 or something like that. Here's what I have planned so far...

Activites:

-sledding
-white elephant gift exchange (everyone brings and wraps a 15$ gift, and than you trade them, but it's a game. Super fun.)
-talking
-dance game thing that we always do at my parties

Food:

-pizza (homemade)
-chips
-soda
-xmas cookies/ice cream

Decorations:

-green/red crepe paper

I need help! Especially when it comes to decorations! My walls are already green, so it's a good start, haah. Thanks!!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Care Package for friend? on: October 07, 2008 04:32:49 PM
So, a week ago, one of my close friends moved to Kansas, 6 hours away from me. Her Bday is coming up, and I'm going to make her a care-package to cheer her up! I'm not sure what to put in it though! It has to be kinda-light, since I have to ship it, and nothing super fragile! Here's a bit about her, I'd soooooo appreciate help! thanks!!!

She's 14 year olds, loves to shop, DANCE, hangout, laugh, etc. Sadly, I have no pictures of the two of us Sad She also likes volleyball, but not as much as the others. She's kinda a "material" girl. She just got her own bedroom/bathroom, so anything for that would be cool. She also writes poems.
6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Iron on Patches - Other ways? on: August 11, 2008 02:59:52 PM
So I was feeling thrifty and went to Steve and Barry's and got this Victoria's Secret-esque hoodie, just without any patches/words. I went to VS earlier and bought patches so I could get a free makeup bag. I went to try and iron them on, and they stick, just not well. Like they are going to fall of soon, and only after two wears.

What can I use for them to stay? Can I sew them? Glue them?

(Sorry, I had no idea where to post this. Feel free to move it if I am wrong on where to put it!)
7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Hemming Denim on: August 02, 2008 10:33:15 AM
I went shopping the other day at Plato's closet, and found the most gorgeous Hollister jeans (only $18!) that fit me perfectly... besides the length. Thre like 3 inches to long. Anyone have any tips to hem my jeans? I'm nervous about messing them up! And I do not have a serger, just a sewing machine.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Refurbishing Metal on: July 27, 2008 07:17:29 AM
I got these vintage chairs at the antique store the other day, and they are amazing! They have blue vinyl, and metal, and amazingness. The metal is old, so we want to clean it so it looks better. Anyone know how to refurbish metal?
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Eyelet Halter Dress on: July 06, 2008 03:37:46 PM
One day, in awful MN, a young girl of 13 took a trip to the fabric store, where they were selling Butterwick patterns for $.99. She bough 5 pattersn... than went back for fabric on the Fourth of July where fabric was 1/2 off. $9 later and she's on her way home to start making said dress! 5 hours later, and she's down. She discovered two things; that the dress was a tad to big for her, and that she hates Butterwick patterns with a passion. I She didn't use them, she cut the pieces and winged it. Comments/critism please!

Hey ladies! It's my 14th birthday in 26 days (yes, I counted) and I am having a huge themed birthday party. It's a beach theme. I'm having troubles to think of a cool cake. My friends are big eaters, and I want them to have a cool cake to google at. Any ideas of a unique cake that I can make that stays with my theme? thanks ladies!
