1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas 2009, what are you making? on: November 14, 2009 06:27:07 AM
I've already been thinking, and I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to make.

Granny: the knit hat ornaments/pot holders
Grandpa: ?
Grandpa: ?
Grandma: ?
Mom: Golden Snitch ornament, and cauldron ornament
Dad: buying an ornament
Brother: ?

I'm thinking for my grandparents, I'll just go to Hancocks and pick out some fun Christmas pattern and sew something.

Ah, yay!

For my grandparents, I made stuffed trees that can stand on their own; it's like 6 trees sewn down the middle. Anyway, she took them with her to sleep ( she has a hard time getting to sleep, btw) but when she had them, she fell right to sleep, so there now her comfort pillows! hahh. My family was in awe that I had made the, lmao.

I always love getting reactions from people who recieve my gifts. So post what you made, and there responses Cheesy

For my girlfriends - I made cheetah and zebra mittens. They all loved them! A lot of them wore them around the day I gave them to them, in class, and I only got great responses! I ended up making 10 pairs of mittens, and than just giving others cookies, and all of it was super time consuming. I'm really happy they completely loved them!

I'll be editing with more in a few days Smiley

I'm stuck for my grandparents! I'd love to make them a joint gift, but I feel that it's to hard to think of, so I'm going to do seperate ones.

Grandpa: loves to work with his hands. builds model planes and flies them, as well as builds clocks.

Grandma: cooks (not to much though) and she always plays bridge with her lady friends.

thanks!

I can't find the thread, but last year, I made a bunch of ornaments for my grandparents. You take a styrofoam ball and cut in about 1/4 inch into 8 sectors. Than you get fabri a little bigger than the sectors, and stuff it around it, and have alternating fabrics. With a ribbon on top! They're so precious and look super professional.

What should I make for my dad?! Right now, I'm going to make him a few ties, because he needs some for work! I'm not sure what else. Here's a bit about him:

My dad: He loves baseball, football and golf. He only plays golf. He's a sales man, that sells nuts and bolts and other fasteners. He is a big dog person, and especially loves our dog, Mac

I'm also not sure about my mom. I'm making her a "Reading in a box" and know I'm going to put some bookmarks, and a barnes and noble gift card in there, but I'm not sure what else!

Small amounts of gift cards.
Felt toys.
Homemade lipgloss.
Candy/cookies.

Wrap everything in stockings! It makes it so much more fun, and it's like having extra presents. It's even better to do for kids!

These are some great ideas! I thought of one, that I'm now making for my dad!

Fathers/Husbands: Homemade ties! They have patterns for them, and great fabric!

I'm going to make one today on practice fabric, and than do the real in a month!
