1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Thunderbirds are go! on: June 01, 2010 04:12:25 AM
I found some great Thunderbirds bedsheets in a charity shop and after making a skirt knew i had to make a bag or 2 from the left overs!
It makes a great grocery bag, although I have been known to stuff it full of clothes as a wee overnight bag. I love it! Of course I dont wear the skirt and bag together, that would probably be overkill...

c&c welcome Smiley
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / old mens shirts to awesome bag on: June 01, 2010 04:08:04 AM
I made these great bags by cutting up mens shirts I got in charity shops and re-purposing them! all parts of the shirt are used, the sleeve and cuff have been transformed into the bow on the front and the shirt pocket is a nifty wee phone pocket inside the bag!

I use a lovely flannel one, its so soft I have to stop myself stroking them!

I made more which are in a pile waiting to be photographed!

c&c greatly appreciated Smiley

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pokemon, swallows, cakes and more! on: February 05, 2008 08:43:28 AM
Hey, this is my first picture post of some bags I have made recently.

First up is the pokemon bag of joy, It is my first ever attempt at a bag with a clasp frame and I am very happy with it!

A white cotton bag with blue felt swallows

This is a blue cord bag that I made for a friends birthday

and last but not least is another bag for a friend, made from spare curtain material! it looks a bit wonky at the top but thats not actually what the bag is like, i just suck at taking nice pictures!

Hope you like them Smiley
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Wedding dress help!! on: November 01, 2007 02:16:06 PM
I am getting married in august/september 2008 and i think i have found the dress of my dreams.

The only thing is, its vintage so I'm doubting there is a pattern available for it.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about how i could make a pattern for the dress, this will be the first proper item of clothing I have made (dont worry, my mum will be helping me!)

Heres the front of the dress:

and the back:

I was thinking that i could perhaps make a top similarly shaped and a circle skirt and attach them, or would this not work? I am clueless at dress making  Embarrassed

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
