Thanks for all the lovely comments. SunflowerSmiles he stands at approx. 8 inches tall, when sitting he's around 7 inches. tuba_nae I must have subconsciously chosen Winnie the Pooh colours, I didn't even realise that until now!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / First mohair jointed bear on: February 16, 2013 04:56:40 AM

It's taken me a while to get back into plushie making, bar a few Birthday/Christmas presents I haven't either been A - inspired or B-had the time. I've been meaning to learn jointing techniques and finally use mohair for several years but I've always been too scared partly due to the cost and the worry I will mess up because there is nothing more scary than an expensive mistake. However I had money given to me at Christmas and seeing as I was not venturing out to the sales (at least not until the middle of January) I used it to finance an expensive project via eBay and etsy. The pattern is not my own it's from theoldpincushion on etsy. Although I have made my own patterns before it's always had a little bit of trial and error attached to it and I wanted to simply have a little less panic attached to this project.

Anyway he's completely hand sewn, has glass eyes and has cotter pin joints (which were easier to use than I thought). He also has steel shot in his feet, paws and bottom to give him a little bit of weight and him what I like to call the baby feel.

The pattern I used (Amadeus) also had instructions on how to antique your bear. I used fabric paint with a sponge to dirty his muzzle and limbs so he looks well -loved. I also ended up knitting him a scarf because all bears need a scarf. Smiley However he still needs a name something I'm still puzzling over weeks after his completion.

I received my package from mommasfrogging on Thursday but because I had work as well as a trip to the dentist  Cry it's meant it's taken til now before I could get pictures posted. First off can I say mommasfrogging crafting skills are awesome,
I received three tote bags which are not only lined but also have some of my favourite characters adorning them
Monterey Jack from Rescue Rangers

Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice

Bitsy from Moondreamers.

Mommasfrogging messaged me to tell me one of the items she made me was too large to send and would it be okay to send it in jigsaw form, when the package arrived and I saw what she'd made me I freaked out.
Before

After

Yep a perler bead Skeletor measuring in at approx 35 " X 25 ". I've not ironed him back together yet but he's gonna be adorning my wall soon.  Grin Just trying to decide whether to mount him on a backing board or possibly frame him!

Finally got my large item half done, I seem to have made it harder for myself this time, I keep adding things to it not realising that's several more hours to the workload. Now having to take my nailpolish off so I can work on some other small items as I have this horrible feeling it's gonna end with me cursing my love of black nail polish if I don't.

I've finally received all of my supplies for my largest item which seems to get more and more complicated as I'm working on it but I'm getting excited as it starts to look more and more how I want it to look think I may have a problem putting in the package as I think I want to keep it...
