21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first 3 bags - have a look! on: November 10, 2007 09:44:06 AM
Wow!  I'm very impressed.  I've been a little initimidated to try to sew bags any more complicated than a basic square.  You've inspired me to get back to it and try following some of the great tutorials on here too!  I'm a little nervous about doing my first zippers and snaps.  Yours turned out so well though!!  Thanks for sharing!

I love this bag!  Is there any chance you'd post a tutorial on it?  I've desperately needed a new bag for a while now and haven't been able to find out I like.  The shape and pattern of this is perfect.  Is that an inside pocket I see through the open zipper too?  Pockets are such a necessity- it's great to have that outside one you put on there as well.  Awesome job!
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: A skirt that glows in the dark and is educational too? Why not?! on: November 05, 2007 03:06:14 PM
I'm so excited by this!  That fabric looks fabulous as a skirt.  It has a nice ironic twist to it -using it's adorable dorkiness to make something hip.  I also hate Walmart but feel compelled occasionally to buy things there because of their lower prices and craft supplies.  I actually think I need to go to the one by me to see if they have this fabric.  It'd be perfect to use for crafting for the swap I'm in now (my partner is interested in astronomy related things.)

Great job!

Great idea! (would be even better if Nikes really were sweat shop free year round not just on halloween- oh well.)  Nice job on your sister's costume as well!

If you want to avoid hot glue on the headband Tacky glue usually works just as well if not better.  You just need to wait slightly longer for it to dry.  You could also just use a staple gun. (An actual staple gun not stapler.  A regular stapler wouldn't be as strong.)

Very nice!  I like the leaf accents!

A jewel would be cool.  I know I wouldn't mind the opportunity to get sparkled and glittered from head to toe.

Other ideas: June bug, Judy Garland... ( I like the Jessica Rabbit suggestion as well)
